Steve 'Flash' JuonZany Golf on Apple IIgs is one of my fondest memories of gaming in the computer labs in my high school, right up there with Karateka, Montezuma’s Revenge, Pitfall II and Silpheed. It’s still a good game on Sega Genesis, but it’s missing a few things, including an entire hole where you could control your golf ball with the mouse. I suppose that’s my biggest gripe about this version — I’m biased by playing it on IIgs.
I remember being able to play with much more precision and accuracy using said mouse and even being able to get to the “mystery hole” if you got a low enough score under par or hit the golf ball into a specific target at precisely the right time. It’s fun enough but at $13 loose and $40 complete you might want something with a little more replay value and/or a little easier to play to begin with.
