Video: 2 Chainz Breaks Down "Based On A T.R.U. Story"
DJ Vlad: The Georgia rapper holds an event for his album, and thanks everyone that put in hard work to make it happen. He then runs through some of the producers on the album, including Kanye West, Drumma Boy and Bangladesh.
Musician and producer Ryan Leslie — who offered $1 million for the return of a stolen laptop — readily admitted in Manhattan court yesterday that he reneged on the deal.
But he insisted that was because the things he really wanted returned were the unreleased tunes he’d written and stored on the computer’s external hard drive. And he said he was never able to access them after he got the gear back.
On his way out of the courtroom, Leslie told his entourage, — including Tunisian girlfriend and model Kenza Fourati — “Tomorrow we’ll know whether I’ll be writing checks or buying Maseratis.”
Video: DNA on E-Ness Disrespecting Him During Battle
DJ Vlad: DNA came back to our VladTV studios for a second interview, and this time around he spoke in depth about his battle with E-Ness. He detailed how he prepared his bars for Ness, and tried not to have every single thing he said be about Ness' days walking across the Brooklyn Bridge to get cheesecake for Diddy. He also opened up on how he felt while Ness was talking over his rhymes and if he would've done anything differently during the battle while Ness was acting out.
His first release since smash hit "Makusa," PRINCE MALIK's new single "SO BAD," from the album "Crown Me" - featuring collaborations with Jim Jones, Meek Mill, Flo Rida, Lumidee and Sean Kingston; will be available to fans in both in radio and dance mix versions. Since its release, "Makusa" charted #1 on radio and aired worldwide on MTV. "Makusa" was one of two Spanish tracks on the "Lifestyle" album, the other being "Cara de Angel," which is still getting spins in US.
"Simbreaker" is the second video release off the album Something You Feel, by rapper/producer Jai Nitai Lotus (pronounced Thai Nee-tie) . This gritty minute "no hook" anthem, produced by Simahlak, is a full body, frenetically-charged track packed with lo-fi guitars and manically psyched keyboard stabs.
Speech Debelle returns to the fray with the third single from her critically-acclaimed second album, Freedom Of Speech. One of the standout tracks from the album, "Live For The Message" was produced by Kwes and features a softly-spoken but defiant vocal from Speech in which she outlines why it's more important to be heard saying the right thing than to be heard - a message not just for the contemporary rap community but for a world obsessed with form over content.
Joining Speech for an epic refix are some of the cream of the UK hip hop community - Akala, DELS, Genesis Elijah, Jaja Soze, CONFUCIUS MC, Aks, Rain Freedom and Kasha Rae, as well as longtime collaborator Realism. Each of the artists takes the opportunity to deliver a message, making a kind of collage which gels their voices into a whole. Self Taught, meanwhile, hardens the beat a little and gives it a bit more hip hop snap.
Speech rose to fame with one of the most inspirational debut albums of the last few years, the Mercury Music Prize winning Speech Therapy, and her forthright and outspoken personality has endeared her to a worldwide audience. Aside from her musically compelling albums, her haunting lyrics feature on Bonobo’s ‘Sun Will Rise,’ (from Ninja Tune’s 20th anniversary XX boxset). She also hints at a playful relationship with the mainstream in her track “Spinnin',” which was adapted by Tinchy Stryder to become the first Olympic song of 2012. After a busy year in which Speech has released an album, toured all over Europe and fronted an acclaimed documentary on homelessness for the BBC, what better way could there to round things off than with a reminder of what a compelling presence the "Queen of UK Rap" (Clash) can be.
