Intent on extending his fan base, Uni V Sol is no novice in the realm of Hip-Hop. Having already been recognized for previous material with a Justo Mixtape nod and an Underground Music Award nomination as well as an Essence of Hip-Hop award, Uni has seen his videos appear on both MTV and MTV2. Now keen to present his new opus to the Hip-Hop masses, he kicks the promotions for The Wonderful World of Jermaine Liriano with the lead off single "This My Dream."

Available from September 28th through RADIOWRECK MUSIC GROUP, this multifaceted performer fuses a variety of genres in this six track EP. Produced by Ricardo "Rickochae" Mendoza, this radio-friendly hit sees the New Jersey based rapper declare his wants and desires for "the type of girl that makes you go 'whoa'." Utilizing the classic sound of Al B Sure’s Nite and Day smash hit from 1988 Uni V Sol adds his twist to just what mutual gratification is all about.

WHAT IS IT:
* a 7 track EP based on one of my favorite 8-bit games ever, "River City Ransom"

How to get it:
* just download it!

Why should I pay $5 for it???
* Because ALL PROCEEDS go towards 2 great causes: Anti-Bullying Organizations like PACER, and toward helping to pay for our flights to JAPAN for the More BARK tour in November. Flights are over $1100 and every penny counts!

7evenThirty is coming to reset the game. The Jackson, Mississippi rhymer has meticulously crafted a sound that is equal parts Outkast and Bootcamp Click. For his Mello Music Group debut, Heaven’s Computer, 7even is pulling out all the stops with a cosmic concept album that is just as much about ripping apart wack MC’s as interplanetary conflict.

Free Download: "Twenty Twelve" http://mellomusicgroup.bandcamp.com/track/twenty-twelve .

To celebrate this apocalyptic moment MMG & 7even are letting off the buckshot, “Twenty Twelve.”  As the title alludes, the track sounds like a Mayan prediction on wax.  5D flips a gritty rock loop into a raw serving of monster music and 7evenThirty turns into Max Redrum, an outer-space rhymer with fangs sharpened who has “psychiatrists rockin’ 3-D goggles smoking peace pipes” trying to see what he thinks like.

Resistance is futile. Heaven’s Computer has crash-landed and can be found infiltrating physical and digital outlets everywhere. There is no escape.

Music Submission: Politic Live - Ellipsis

After four years in the making, 3X Western Canadian Music Award nominated hip-hop group Politic Live have finally released their third full length album, Ellipsis. After completing their latest opus in the summer of 2009, Politic Live went back to rework the project in the winter of 2009 feeling the album wasn’t ready for release.

Measuring twice in hopes of cutting once, Politic Live spent the next two and half years re-tracking vocals, recording new songs, and incorporating additional producers – a move that culminated in a sample-free hip-hop album that has been described by one music critic as a “career defining masterpiece”.

To challenge themselves on Ellipsis, Politic Live made a conscious effort to stay away from the typical braggadocio found in hip-hop songs. So as opposed to writing raps about how good they are at rapping Politic Live instead spoke to current affairs issues like the pros and cons of their province’s recent boom and bust (“Birth of a City”), the misapplication of Canada’s social welfare systems (“Wanty, Wanty” featuring Janaya Ellis of Souljah Fyah) and the pressure many immigrant youth face trying to “fit in” (“Natty” featuring Saint).

However, as with their previous efforts there is balance as heard on the subtly comedic “Irony & Clichés” featuring KazMega & Poizonus which pokes fun at hip-hop’s predictability, the reflective “NYE” featuring Zellust that speaks to new beginnings and “Dancehall Sketch” featuring King Khan & Oozeela which finds Politic Live connecting with their West Indian roots. All three songs are great examples of Ellipsis’ diverse sound which has boom-bap beats, smooth jazz ensembles and fast ragga rhythms. Following a critically acclaimed album is never an easy feat. Many often fall well below expectation. But Politic Live have met the challenge in making an album that once again speaks to concerns of the average person while still making them bob their heads and move their feet. With a narrative that weaves together love, perseverance, growth and heritage, Ellipsis is an album that was well worth the wait.

Complex Interviews Meek Mill and Wiz Khalifa

The October/November issue of Complex Magazine, the lifestyle, fashion and entertainment guide for young men, includes candid interviews and racy photo shoots with 3 of the hottest up-and-coming singers and rappers around today including sexy singer Leah Labelle, rapper Meek Mill - whose debut album hits stores next month - and sold-out artist Wiz Khalifa, who graces the cover of the October/November issue.

Meek Mill: "When I’m not in the booth, I’m one of the most laid-back guys. But growing up, I liked DMX, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and T.I.—dudes that went all out on the track. My first songs were energetic because I liked their energy. When I used to battle people every day, I had to go hard. If someone went harder than me, they left with the win. I haven’t lost since I was 12 years old."

Wiz Khalifa: "The game has changed. Not to say anything against Mac (Miller), but to any artist (who wants to) make their situation stronger, make sure the songs that you publish sell more than your mixtape stuff. That will help you stand up against that because nobody can say that you’re building your career off it."

NEW SHIRTS: SPECIAL HERBS + KMD
We recently came across a batch of T-shirts in a warehouse that were made as a limited-edition promotion back in 2004 for some early DOOM releases.  Check out the designs above, one features the logo of DOOM's original group KMD, and the other features the comic book-style covers of the first 4 volumes in DOOM's Special Herbs instrumental series.  Available on their own, or together with the matching DOOM CDs.  Needless to say, supplies won't last long.
