"Back in September, on the same day that we linked up with Brenda, we also met a couple traveling musicians with matching hats named Neil and Tim. They were on a road trip/tour across the country to spread their music and were cool enough to play us a cover of one of their favorite pop songs 'Halo'."
Born on the south side of Chicago, Calez was born to create music. Whether, it was writing his first rap at the age of six, or having his very first recording session at the age of thirteen and producing his own beats a year later (he has since produced the majority of his own solo-material and even produced for Lil B), its never been a question of if Calez would be famous; it was just a matter of when for the gifted emcee, producer, singer and composer.
With such an original sound and creative ideas for music, Calez and a few of his friends pooled together their talents and decided to form a collaborative group called “2008ighties” to further brand there work and movement.
Calez released his debut solo mix-tape entitled The Bus Stop on May 12th, 2010 and its sequel entitled Is Calez Famous Yet was released on May 12th, 2011 and began to garner attention from both a fan and press perspective (2dopeboyz.com & Rubyhornet.com among many).
Now as Calez prepares to unveil his latest masterpiece, Kid With Raps, (which is slated to be released in 2012), we give you a chance to become both familiar and reacquainted with him, as Calez is definitely and artist to watch; and listen to!
