Tuesday, November 5th, experimental rap duo Latyrx will release The Second Album, their first release since 1998's Muzzaper's Mixes EP. The renowned experimental hip-hop duo, made up of MCs Lyrics Born and Lateef the Truthspeaker, grew from the Bay Area Solesides collective of the 1990s, which also included DJ Shadow and future members of Blackalicious.
While the two emcees have both achieved considerable solo success, The Second Album marks the duo's first full-length album release since the critically-acclaimed, 1997 release The Album. The release features appearances from members of tUnE-yArDs, Anticon, Living Colour, and The Decemberists as well as Busdriver, Forrest Day, 1-O.A.K. The project will be released on Latyrx's own Latyramid label.
