Video: Nation Ruckus - "Against The Wall"

Nation Ruckus premieres the music video for its latest summer jam "Against the Wall" featuring Sir Jay and Jonathan Emile. Released in anticipation for NR's first full length album ''Boombox Manifesto'', the video is a follow-up to "Lockdown" which introduced the group's unique sonic and visual aesthetic and took over Musique Plus' Top5 Countdown for over 12 weeks in a row.

The first in a series of videos to come, the clip showcases NR's signature alternative flavor with a warm Jamaican twist. Taking place in a gritty underground bash, we find the trio kicking it alongside local talents Sir Jay and Jonathan Emile as well as some of the city's best dancers. Produced by the same team as in ''Lockdown'' (directed by IN-1 Studio and choreographed by Doïna Cocco), it was shot at Montreal's renowned Foufounes Électriques.

Perfectly fitted for cruises in the whip, the track is a heavy reggae-influenced joint reminiscing of old school hip hop, and finds NR's front man (rapper Milk-E Fresh) spitting socially conscious rhymes over a party beat.

The group's debut album, Boombox Manifesto, is set to drop September 18th under their independent label Big Dreamz Records. For more information on Nation Ruckus happenings, visit, follow on Twitter @NationRuckus and join the Facebook page at

MP3: @DrkTimeSunshine - "Look At What The Cat Did" f/ @Busdriver

From Audible Treats:

MP3: Dark Time Sunshine - "Look At What The Cat Did" Ft. Busdriver

On July 24th, Dark Time Sunshine will release their new album, ANX. The other week, the duo comprised of Grayskul (Rhymesayers) rapper Onry Ozzborn and producer Zavala, released the album bonus track, "A Walk In The Park," and now, as Onry and Zavala prep for their forthcoming 31-date tour opening for Aesop Rock, Dark Time Sunshine is excited to release the first official track from ANX with "Look What The Cat Did," which features underground favorite Busdriver.

The new single, which Dark Time Sunshine refers to as "a dark pop anthem" about the luring power that they have over the women that they desire, is built around an absolutely infectious beat from Zavala. Layered synths bend, bubble, and bounce around crisp snares and thick, rapid-fire kicks, all coming to a head as Onry and Busdriver half-sing the hook, repeating, "Look at what the cat drugged in...He has your tongue."

Dark Time Sunshine's new album, ANX, which includes features from Aesop Rock, P.O.S., Busdriver, and more, will be released July 24th via Fake Four, Inc.

MP3: Syn 228 (EX2 Crew) - "Hero" (@AbolanoRecords)

From Abolano Records:

MP3: Syn 228 (EX2 Crew) - "Hero"

As one of the founding fathers of EX2, Syndrome 228 has not only appeared on Awol One’s "Noise" cassette & the "Three Eyed Cowz" tape but he has also contributed on several other compilations and posse cuts. Most notably on the classic Tommy V (Imprints) crew cut, “Pepsi On The Record”, which included EX2, The Shape Shifters, and Global Phlowtations all on one song together. His involvement with EX2 spawned four albums in the span of twelve years.

Today we are releasing the first in a series of free downloads from Syn 228's upcoming album titled, Exodus. This lead offering, "Hero", showcases Syn's intricate style of writing. Instead of his signature, multi-sylabic/double-time delivery, Syn wedges himself in the trenches to narrate through this soldier's anthem.

"Hero" is produced by Rezult (Tree Dusk Muir). Artist, Trish Toledo, contributes on the chorus. Syn 228 "Exodus", will be made available as a free download, is scheduled for a late fall release. "Exodus" will feature production from Rezult, Mascaria, & Abomination and feature guest appearances from Myka 9 & Gel Roc.

From Wanja Lange:

Nico the Beast x Reef the Lost Cauze x Rec Raw - "Crystal Ball"

Following "Deja Vu", the candence-intensive, lead single from Nico the Beast/Vanderslice's True to Form EP, now comes "Crystal Ball".  Vanderslice's heavy, slow-flow track, evokes nothing short of being asked "any last words?" by a firing squad ...with certain death courtesy of Philadelphia's Reef the Lost Cauze, Nico the Beast and Rec Raw.

Return Of The Mack Star, @_MarkMorrison Drops New Music Video

From 2SPR:

Return Of The Mack Star, Mark Morrison Drops Self-Directed Music Video, Ni**a Ain’t No Good

The ‘King of British R&B’, Mark Morrison has released the music video to his new track “Ni**a Ain’t No Good”, in preparation of his third album ‘I Am What I Am’ due this fall. The video is also directed by Morrison.

“Ni**a Ain’t No Good” (aka “N.A.N.G.”) is a track close to Mark’s heart and the song pays homage to the charity REFUGE, who were a help and support to his cousin who had been subject to a violent relationship.

Earlier this month, Morrison featured on Trae Tha Truth’s “I’m On 2.0”, alongside Big K.R.I.T., Jadakiss, J. Cole. Kendrick Lamar, B.o.B, Tyga, Gudda Gudda, and Bun B. The all-star music video landed MTV’s Jam of the Week.

Mark Morrison was the most successful British R&B singer of the mid-90s and was the first black male solo artist to reach number one in the 90s. His breakthrough single, “Return Of The Mack” became a Top-10 hit worldwide in 1996, and opened the US market for him the following year, where it reached number two, and stayed on the Billboard charts for an incredible 41 weeks. His debut album, also titled Return Of The Mack followed, and became a multiplatinum success, selling 3 million albums worldwide. Further singles “Crazy (Remix)”, “Trippin’”, “Horny” and “Moan & Groan” would all reach the UK Top-10, making him the first artist in British pop history to have five Top-10s from their debut album.

In 2006, Morrison returned with an independent release, “Innocent Man” featuring DMX.

One of the most talked about artists that single-handedly pioneered the UK R&B movement of the 90’s is now back to reclaim his title. With a new album under his belt and ready to go, and his first worldwide tour in motion – The Mack is BACK! .

Kottonmouth Kings Release New Album 'Mile High' August 14th

From Kerosene Media:

Kottonmouth Kings Release New Album 'Mile High' August 14th & Announce Tour With Strange Music's Prozak, Big B & Moonshine Bandits

On Aug 14, 2012, The Kottonmouth Kings will release their most prolific and smashing record to date, "Mile High". The Kottonmouth Kings are flying high and delivering lyrical gymnastics over sonic soundscapes that will blow speakers from coast to coast. To celebrate the release of their most potent album to date, The Kottonmouth Kings are taking their mind bending brand of rip-hop on the road for one of the most anticipated underground packages this year, the Mile High Tour. The Kottonmouth Kings scoured the land and enlisted only the freshest groups to join them for this monumental tour and recruited horror master Prozak, underground heavyweight Big B, and country hip-hop misfits the Moonshine Bandits.

"It's tour is going to be insane touring around such a powerful record as 'Mile High'. After the last dope run with Twiztid, I think this tour is going to be bananas," said the Dirtball. "The tour is smack in the middle of the summer, and the beats will be banging all night for the crowd! We are ready for action!"

"Mile High" is the Kottonmouth Kings on steroids with a twist of ecstasy and a pot brownie. "Mile High" has the Kings passing the mic around like the Harlem Globetrotters pass a basketball and spitting lyrical fire. To help "Mile High" truly take flight, the Kings were joined in the studio by some of the sickest emcees in the underground including Swollen Members, Jahred from (Hed)p.e., Mickey Avalon, and the demented duo Twiztid. “Mile High” will also contain a deluxe bonus disc that contains all the original Kings together again with Saint Dog on record for the first time since they recorded 1998's "Royal Highness". To tie it all together the Kings created some mind altering X-Rated album artwork for that is only available for a limited time online at .
