Hip-Hop Artist Saigon to Release Long-Awaited Debut Album
SAIGON AND SUPER-GROUP, SWOLLEN MEMBERS HIT THE ROAD ON U.S. TOUR
Hip Hop fans and curious bystanders of rapper Saigon can finally hear the efforts of the anticipated album, “The Greatest Story Never Told.” The long awaited project will be released on Just Blaze’s label Fort Knock Entertainment in conjunction with Abandoned Nation/Suburban Noize Records and available for purchase early 2011. The passionate artist exploded onto the music scene only a few years ago with classic mixtapes, singles and street albums such as “Warning Shots“. He’s surrounded himself with hip hop heavyweights such as super producer Just Blaze and Jay-Z. You’ve seen his charismatic self on the hit HBO show, “Entourage” that increased his fan-base and interest to know more about Saigon.
His album features guest appearances by hip hop legend, Bun B, Q-Tip, Marsha Ambrosius and Faith Evans. Saigon wisely selected super producers Just Blaze, Kanye West, Buck Wild and Red Spyda to culminate his debut masterpiece. “I’m just finally happy that people are going to hear my music”, says Saigon. Just Blaze also serves as the project’s Executive Producer in addition to Rich Nice (Ludacris, NAS) and radio and television personality Sway Calloway (The Wake Up Show, MTV). “It’s time to get focused, this is a serious project put ya game face on” says Just Blaze.
In support of the album, Saigon will hit the road with Canadian group, Swollen Members for a 30-city tour beginning November 4 in Bellingham, WA. Dates are listed below. Swollen Members hail from Vancouver, British Columbia and have been called “two of the most innovative people in hip hop” in the Rough Guide in Hip Hop. The upcoming tour is an exciting collaboration of the two acts that are planning on delivering high energy and quality much in each city that they perform.
“[Miles Jones] steps tall with an easy-going hip-hop sound that's as polished as it is reverential. Runaway Jones is the result of a young career honed by family history, a stint in university, international touring and appearances supporting KRS-One, Souls of Mischief, Raekwon and Thunderheist." – Exclaim
"Already an Ontario Independent Music Award winner in 2008, Miles Jones is becoming one of those ‘hear him now’ type of artists.” – Kevin Nottingham
(New York City, NY) – Stemming from a family line of international music industry trailblazers Hedley Jones Sr. and DJ Deadly Hedley comes Miles Jones, who dropped his worldwide debut single "Never Wrong" on October 12th. “Never Wrong”, produced by Drake’s super-producer Boi 1da, comes from Miles Jones’ debut album Runaway Jones, released exclusively in Canada and recorded on Mojo Records & Publishing with URBNET Records (Moka Only, D-Sisive, DL Incognito). Not only loved and appreciated by the underground hip hop heads, one of Toronto’s main music publications, Now Magazine, says "Runaway Jones demonstrates what a breakout hip-hop album should sound like. Jones’s unique voice and delivery make him one to watch in coming months."
Hailing from a long line of reputable musicians, Miles’ grandfather Headly Jones Sr. from Jamaica started Studio and was arguably the first to invent the electric guitar. His father Headly Jones Jr aka Deadly Headly was a DJ on CFNY and an early Toronto Club DJ pioneer.
Growing up with musical influences coming from both West Indian and Canadian cultures, Miles created a unique urban sound that maintains the key elements of true hip-hop, which lead to collaborations with Percee P, Detroit-based producer Black Milk, and most recently, Boi 1da (Drake, Eminem, Kanye West) who was nominated at this year’s BET Awards for “Producer of the Year”. Miles has been the recipient of distinguished awards from the Billboard World Song Contest for “Hip Hop Song of the Year” (2010) and the Independent Music Awards for “Hip Hop Song of the Year” (2009) and "Hip Hop Artist of the Year" (2007). His music has been featured on major networks and hit television programs including CBS’ CSI: Las Vegas and the 2010 Winter Olympics.
MILES JONES Tour Dates:
