Ryan Leslie announces "Ups & Downs" as the second single off of his top-notch rap album Les Is More, released via NextSelection Lifestyle Group distributed by BDG (BDG is distributed by RED, a division of SONY Music Entertainment). Described by the Associated Press to "surely send you up," the feel-good record is being serviced to radio this week.
In conjunction with the launch of Les is More, Leslie was selected as a brand ambassador for the Sony X Headphones (#SonyX) and their "Love To Give" (#SonyLove) campaign this holiday season. "Ups & Downs" is featured in a video vignette for the Sony X's where Leslie discusses the importance of having headphones that don't dilute the honesty of the recording. The "Love To Give" theme is a sentiment that celebrates the spirit of giving through the eyes of Ryan Leslie, and various other artists including country pop singer Taylor Swift and renowned photographer Nigel Barker.
The first rap album from Ryan Leslie, Les Is More debuted at #1 on the iTunes Hip Hop Charts simultaneously in 8 countries including the U.S., Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, and Switzerland. Leslie, "a marvel of multitasking" according to the NY Times wrote, arranged, produced and performed on Les Is More, along with directing and editing a series of music videos to accompany each record.
Leslie recently wrapped his first domestic headlining tour to rave reviews including one from XXLMag.com, "last night (October 4) the musical dynamo Ryan Leslie tore down a sold out Gramercy Theatre in NYC like a rock star." He is currently on tour in Switzerland, Germany, France, Netherlands, UK, and Austria for the European leg of the Les Is More Tour.
Attikus first met Cuba's El Tipo Este while he was in Vancouver performing at the Vancouver International Hip Hop 4 Peace Festival in 2011. They recorded Pa'Dentro and were fortunate enough to link again recently to shoot the video. Pa'Dentro is a single off his debut album Boo Radley which was released earlier this year.

Music has never been my therapy.
Maybe itís because my past tragedies are the foundation for most of my work, but Iíve never been able to relate to an artist who credits his|her music as therapeutic. Iíve always had to dig. Time travel. Back to memories I wished Iíd never remember again. Fortunately, and unfortunately, thatís never the case. We can suppress them. Pack them away in Tupperware. But they always come back. In dreams. The shower. During movies or songs. Smells. Meals. Something always seems to trigger them when you least expect it. This is why creating, intentionally fishing, could never be therapeutic for me.
Banana Bread [a song on Jonestown 3] was inspired by a fanís letter telling me she asked her grandmother to pray for me. The opening lines brought me to an afternoon I spent with my father. He was telling me about the day my grandmother, his mother, died, and how he morbidly felt satisfaction. I felt sickened, and let him know. He told me Ďdonít make judgment calls on what you havenít lived.í I never took into consideration what he was put through. My grandmother was an alcoholic of the worst kind. She was also the most beautiful person when sober. But thatís always the case.
Writing about that story reminded me of what I went through with my father, who also eventually died because of alcoholism. History repeated itself. I didnít experience a tenth of what he did. He was distant, but wasnít abusive. He always made sure I was taken care of, but was selfish with his self-abuse. Thatís what I had to deal with. Revisiting this was far from therapeutic. Nothing was lifted off my chest. In fact it made me feel worse. But I believe this is necessary for my art.
ďSome people must go to extremes to get the world in balance for themselves. Some canít bear bright lights, so wherever they go they search for the dark; they turn the lights down, anything to sustain some level of comfort.Ē -Julian Schnabel
This has always been my process. And always will. If you want to dance, listen to the radio. Escape. We all need to dance at some point in our lives. Even Iíve done the Lambada once or twice, as horrifying as that is to imagine. But we also need to come back down. And Iím fortunate enough to say Iíve been there waiting for you when you landed.
ďDo not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.Ē -Ralph Waldo Emerson

New Jeru rap veteran Rah Digga joins forces with Australia's go-to producer M-Phazes for the Maxi-Single "Never Back Down." Consisting of two versions, the original mix featuring Fresno's Fashawn and Beantown's REKS, in addition to the previously leaked remix featuring the Michigan born, Florida raised and now NYC transplant Nitty Scott, MC, "Never Back Down" showcases top notch lyricism and wordplay over M-Phazes fusion of glitched-out dubstep and gritty guitar riffs. "Never Back Down" is now available via Coalmine Records and is bundled for sale with both the main and clean edit passes of both versions, along with the instrumental and acapella of the original version, all for just $2.99.
PR: Pac Div's "The Return": All Hail LA's 2nd Renaissance!
Courtesy Dory G.
In case you missed it, Pac Div just unveiled their new song "The Return," the second single from their upcoming album, GMB (out 11/27). The trio teamed up with fellow LA native Ty$ for this ode to their "City of Angels and Demons," which The FADER premiered yesterday.
It's clear that Los Angeles hip-hop is experiencing its second renaissance, and Pac Div is straight up basking in it with their new track. As evident in their collaborations with Kendrick Lamar and Blu on their previous single, "Cross Trainers," and Ty$ on "The Return," Mibbs, Like, and BeYoung are intent on letting everybody know that LA is back, and is in good hands.
Constant Deviants is excited to give fans a chance to listen to their new album, Diamond. The full-length release, which will be available at retail (both on vinyl and digitally) this coming January, is now available to fans digital-only, via Constant Deviant's label, Six2Six Records.
The Brooklyn-meets-Baltimore duo has been hard at work on Diamond for over a year now, a process that began with last year's Platinum: The Mixtape release. And while that project found rapper M.I. and producer DJ Cutt doing their thing over some of the industry's most popular and classic beats, Diamond is a return to true form for Constant Deviants Ė a project that falls not only in line with recent fan-favorite singles like "Fulton Street" (which appears on Diamond), but also in line with the music that the duo has been releasing since they first began working together in a mid-1990s Ė and have remained true to over a 15-year period that has seen stints with major labels like Arista Records and collaborations with high profile acts like N.O.R.E.
Last week, in announcing today's digital-only release, Constant Deviants released the album's lead single, "Gangster Boogie," a smooth, soul-sample-flipping anthem, and today, Constant Deviants are now giving fans a chance to check out what the full album sounds like, a level of quality that the duo feels stands in accordance with the title of the album. "We went with Diamond because of its rarity and preciousness," says M.I. "Also, Diamonds last forever and have and always will be sought after."
For the duo, rejoining forces last year after ten years of being apart, the album also reflects strong levels of growth, both individually and as a collective. "I believe the separation helped us grow, because we brought back stuff we learned from working with others," explains M.I. of the on-again-off-again dynamic, "but we went back to our original flavor and it worked out awesome. I believe or music will just continue to get better, and, God willing, we will continue to learn."
Today, Pie-Rx Recordz, the new label imprint from A-Wax, is proud to release the Pittsburgh, California, native's latest mixtape, Pie-Rx Muzik. The tape, presented by Southern Hospitality, includes features and production from the likes of Iggy Azalea, YG Hootie, Jahlil Beats, Araab Muzik, Cardiak, and more.
Following his successful album released earlier this summer, Everybody Loves Me: Chapter 1, A-Wax is working to introduce his own imprint and the artists signed to the label. Unlike previous work from A-Wax, who has earned the respect of, and formed alliances with, the likes of Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, French Montana, and more, A-Wax has turned in a new direction with Pie-Rx Muzik.
"I originally was going to let this new tape have all of my left over music," says A-Wax. "But when I got in the studio it ended up being me collaborating with a lot of my close homies and my own artists signed to Pie-Rx Recordz." The result of those collaborations is a collection of new songs that remain true to themes found throughout A-Wax's previous releases Ė the struggle and the hustle. "Pie-Rx is, of course, a play on the Pyrex jar used by so many to cook dope," explains Wax of the tape's slick title, "and that's what I did Ė I just cooked up some dope in the kitchen. Simple: No frills; no cut Ė just good music; good dope."
In addition to putting the shine on his close collaborators and newly signed label artists, Pie-Rx Muzik, also puts more emphasis on A-Wax as a solo artist Ė and that's not to say that any of his previous releases lacked his strong fingerprints Ė they didn't Ė but only that, with limited high-profile guests (Iggy Azalea and Araab Muzik, Jahlil Beats, Cardiak), it's truly A-Wax's talents that carry Pie-Rx Muzik forward. "I constantly experiment with new styles and my delivery and flow are more on point," remarks A-Wax, of his continued growth as an artist. "My recording techniques are refined and it shows in my confidence."
The Game is back with a new track titled "Black Jesus." If you didn't know, The Game is releasing new music every Sunday (#SundayService) until his new album drops. The album, Jesus Piece, will be in stores December 11. I hope you will enjoy this new track.
The Game Set To Release 'Jesus Piece' on December 11th - Official Tracklist

On December 11, GRAMMYģ-nominated, multi-Platinum artist The Game will release his fifth album, Jesus Piece (Interscope Records), and celebrate with an intimate show at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. Jesus Piece, which includes numerous high profile features, follows 2011's The R.E.D. Album - the Compton-bred MC's third album to debut atop the Billboard 200.
Kanye West and Common guest on the album's title track while Chris Brown, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa and Lil Wayne join Game on the lead single, "Celebration," marking a first-time collaboration for these five Platinum-selling artists. The pre-order for the standard and deluxe versions of Jesus Piece launches today on the iTunes Store. See below for track listings and cover art.
"The Jesus Piece album concept came together while I was recording a song that eventually became the title track. It was this song that inspired me to create series of recordings themed around experiences and feelings that I hope everyone can relate to on some level," explains Game. "I have an amazing collection of artists helping me deliver the 'good word' and I hope the fans will receive it as one of their favorite hip-hop albums of the year."
"Celebration," which is available now at all digital retailers, takes its sample from the Bone Thugs-n-Harmony classic "1st of tha Month." All five members of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are featured on "Celebration Remix," the first track featured in Game's #SundayService campaign, wherein he drops a new song each Sunday leading up to the album's release.
Game is nothing if not versatile. He's racked up a string of chart-topping, Platinum-certified singles and sold more than 10 million albums. "Game invigorates West Coast rap with grit, ferocity, vivid rhymes [and] crushing beats," noted USA Today in a review of The R.E.D. Album while the Associated Press observed: "he continues to prove that he is a dominant force on the West Coast."
He's built his company, Black Wall Street, into a hood-favorite clothing brand and community-based enterprise that releases mixtapes from developing L.A. artists. Game co-starred opposite Meagan Good and Tyrese in the classic urban film Waist Deep. His new reality show, "Marrying The Game," premiered on VH1.
