Murs presents "Gods Gone Crazy", the first exclusive track from Yumiko: Curse Of The Merch Girl, his album and graphic novel collaboration with Josh Blaylock. The album and novel unite to tell the story of Yumi Morales, a girl living the fabled tour life working the merchandise table for her boyfriend Dominick's band Murder Acts. The 124-page graphic novel is illustrated by Jose Garcia, written by Josh Blaylock and the ten-song album - whose lyrics are printed in their entirety throughout the novel - is produced entirely by DJ Foundation.

Yumiko is available only via the project's Kickstarter page, where a range of different pledge options will get you everything from the novel and CD to exclusive apparel, custom download cards illustrated by David Mack and Jim Mahfood, and a personal thank-you note and Twitter follow from Murs. Followed by the release of the album and book, an animated music video will officially be unveiled at Murs' party during the Comic-Con convention in San Diego. "Yumiko is hip hop and comics done correctly," says Murs of the project. "Comics have always been a huge inspiration to me. And having the chance to publish my own comic is truly an honor. Working with my partners to create this book was a lot of fun and we are looking forward to making our dream a reality with the help of the fans."

Release: "The (R)evolution Of Immortal Technique" Spring 2012

Release: "The (R)evolution Of Immortal Technique" Documentary Out Spring 2012

Cary Stuart and Quarter Water Productions capture a first-handed look at Immortal Technique’s childhood and adolescence, his emergence into the Hip-Hop scene, and his empowering music and philanthropic works that have made him a revolutionary icon. The double-DVD documentary features in-depth conversations with major figures such as Chuck D., Dr. Cornel West, Ice T, and Woody Harrelson, along with personal commentary from close music friends AKIR, DJ Green Lantern, ILL BILL, Diabolic, and many others. Immortal Technique has spent recent years touring relentlessly, performing across the United States and overseas in Colombia, Sweden, Amsterdam, and more. The film culminates with his expedition in Afghanistan for the launching of the Amin Institue, an orphange, school, and medical facility established by Immortal Technique and Omeid International.

“[Immortal Technique] symbolize[s] the voice of truth all around the world in the name of rap music and Hip Hop.” – Chuck D

The Amin Institute was financed independently of corporate funding, with over 60K raised from Immortal Technique concert and album sales. Immortal Technique and partner Omeid International opened the Amin Institute doors in March 2009, enrolling its first class of to 10 orphaned boys. As a testament to his involvement and commitment to the cause, Immortal Technique spent two weeks in Kabul where he assisted with the final construction, hiring of staff, and procurement of supplies, as well as being part of the opening ceremony. He also traveled to nearby regions of Kabul to raise awareness and gain insight toward the people of Afghanistan.

“The Amin Institute will be giving [children] a place to live and a chance to learn and rebuild their own nation.” – Immortal Technique

To create the documentary, Cary Stuart personally captured seven years worth of filming combined with rare, archived footage from Immortal Technique’s early adolescence and pre-career rap battle days. The (R)evolution of Immortal Technique contains a second-disc with extended performances clips, interviews, and other extras and will be released in Spring 2012, followed by the highly anticipated release of his 5th album, The Middle Passage.

“Black Girl” is Waz Most first single from his debut album Reflections of Life. This track features Waz Most as a relaxed kat trying to rap about his ideal type of women. It’s a classic throw back of a love joint with real ideals and consciousness within the lyrics. This couldn’t have come at a better time in the industry when some of the focus has been about exploiting black women. Waz Most took a different approach and has unleashed a joint that shows respect to our women as those who are truly “swimming in polluted waters but strong enough to raise our sons and daughters”.
