2013 continues to be a momentous year for independent hip-hop label Funk Volume, and a good deal of that success this year came courtesy of Dizzy Wright, who's having a bit of a breakout year himself. The Las Vegas rapper, who signed with Funk Volume in 2012, was named to XXL's 2013 Freshmen class, winning the fan-voted "People's Champ" award; he released his new mixtape, The Golden Age, which has logged over 150,000 downloads to date; he co-headlined an Australian tour with label-mate Jarren Benton; and he headlined his own 45-city US tour. And so it's fitting that with all of these accolades, Dizzy is able to celebrate the close of the year by giving something back to the fans that have supported him thus far with a new track, "No Writer's Block, I Like To Rap."

As one half of seminal hip hop duo Organized Konfusion, Prince Po helped elevate lyricism and shape the art form for years to come. After partnering with Danger Mouse for his classic solo debut, Po is now back with Animal Serum, entirely produced by West Coast beatsmith Oh No. The younger brother of beat god Madlib, Oh No has made a name for himself in recent years with a series of acclaimed solo albums, group work as one half of Gangrene (alongside Alchemist), plus production work on everything from the latest Mos Def album to Grand Theft Auto V. Animal Serum hits stores everywhere on February 4th, 2014 via Wandering Worx / Greenstreets.
The bond between these two innovative artists runs deep. "Oh No is an exceptional producer who thinks outside the box," explains Prince Po. "He has vision and imagination within that soul and funk we yearn for. His production sounds like he's been down with the Organized Konfusion movement since the Stress: The Extinction Agenda LP." A unique work from two artists known for pushing boundaries, Animal Serum is an exciting new chapter for both contributors. "Fans can expect an inspiring piece of art," says Prince Po. "It's funky, fun, political...a rollercoaster ride of life through music."
Audio: Centric x Cyrano Sinatra x Jean1us - "KINGZ"

With a bongo-fueled bassline, “KINGZ” can be best described as “victory music.” The track features members Centric, Cyrano Siantra and Jean1Us and is produced by fellow label-mate Trife. Similar to what “All About the Benjamins” was for Bad Boy, “Kingz” is an anthem that exemplifies everything Free At Last Music stands for: lyrical precision and impeccable production. And with Centric manning the ship, these “kingz” are ready, willing and able to wear the crown!
