Video: Main Attrakionz - "Kinfolk" (Prod. by Tynethys)

When standing alone, who do you hold in the back of your mind? Oakland hip-hop duo Main Attrakionz keeps its kinfolk close in their newest video. "My life is crazy but my family is usual," raps Squadda B, explaining how he stays bonded to his extended circle through the insanity. Tynethys, a Sacramento producer who is quite an accomplished wordsmith and instrumental musician in his own right and is coming off the release of his recent Lost Angeles project, illustrates the juxtapositions of beauty and freneticism over the course of the song, as piano and operatic vocal samples interweave with a ticking, driving rhythm. The two come together to create a middle place for the Main Attrakionz's stories to live.
Charlotte, North Carolina emcee Shane Coble a.k.a. Keeping Hip-Hop Alive. Saving The Youth. We ARE "Street Poets"
Starting off in the CEO Shadel Preddy's apartment, Thee Open Mic has transitioned into a fully functioning business where we have long-term goals of becoming present nationwide. What launched in 2011 as being a platform for poets to perfect their craft has evolved into a movement. The attendance numbers have grown from being just spoken word artist to any individuals who have a creative stature. This may include, but not limited to visual artist, musicians, singers, and underground hip-hop artist.
The youth is our future. We've dedicated time to host a youth Open Mic event at Herbert Von King Park Cultural Arts Center that is held directly before Thee Open Mic. Free to attend, youth between the ages of 10-18 years old are allowed to do anything from reach poetry, sing, and dance. Our focus is to inspire the youth by providing them with a creative platform in the early stages. Acting as mentors we provide guidance and open discussions as motivation. The goal is to bring positive change to the community for the youth is our future and they really do need our attention.

Veteran Hip-Hoppers V!RTU & Meko McAfee go coast to coast when they joined forces for a collab. Representin' NC & CA respectively, V!RTU & Meko came together to speak on aspirations bigger than poppin' bottles at the local club on a Friday Night. The grimy production by the world famous "Khrysis" compliments the smooth flow as they deliver lines without sticking to the 16 bar format.
It feels like the time to release bouncy summer jams. But Toronto's hip-hop super duo, Perfeck Strangers (Promise & Dan-e-o) have decided to go a different route. A re-imagining of the assassinations of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X as well as a declaration about one's quest to live out his dreams, "Dreams" serves as one of hip-hop's strongest celebrations of achievement in black history.
West coast hip-hop artist Spencer Williams aka Spends Quality is releasing "Quicksand," from his latest LP, Time Peace. The Sacramento based emcee released two full length LPs on his own label, CFO Recordings earlier this month.
