Press Release: DTR 45 Introduces Danny Switchblade

Hip Hop and Punk culture both found their start in late 70's New York City, birthed via the socially charged times, where youth of very different backgrounds found a voice through new styles of music, fashion and attitude.

It is with these parallels in mind that DTR45 is proud to announce the signing of Danny Switchblade, a punk rock/hip hop fusion outfit based out of Harlem. The inclusion of Danny marks a new frontier for DTR45, who's roster includes a plethora of various hip hop-esque acts, like Billy Drease, Pseudo Intellectuals, Paulie Rhyme, Atherton and more. While still keeping hip hop roots, Danny Switchblade reaches sharply into very punk branches, and we at DTR45 are excited about this in 2012. As part of this announcement, we are pleased to present the teaser video for the forthcoming debut single REFORM SCHOOL, as well as a free mp3 download of Danny's Come Out and Play.

Danny Switchblade is a man that wears many hats, though you will more than likely find him wearing a skully cap these days. Danny Switchblade writes, produces, arranges and performs, he is a jack of all trades, and he’s here to stay.

Influenced by punk rock and moved by rap music, he strived to find a way to combine the two. His vocals are simplistic and direct, while his aggressive chants surfing the melodic tides find themselves in a middle ground where hip hop heads and rockers alike can enjoy the best of both worlds, without feeling guilty. The combination of rap and rock demands attention, as one enhances the other. His music is very rebellious, and as much as you try to stick him in a category, he will not conform. He’s reckless, he’s mysterious, he’s Danny Switchblade.

Honest, dirty, aggressive and vintage, just a few words used to describe Danny Switchblade’s sound. “Its metal punk with hip hop elements, like chanting and storytelling. It’s very honest. It's rebel sh-t. The truth of the matter is.. I’m not your typical rocker. I don’t give a F-ck, I'm here and I don’t care if people get it right away. People are so afraid to experiment. I’m not.”

"Born To Use Mikes" is the first song from TOMORROW IS A LIE, Sicarii's highly anticipated 3rd full-length album. Massachusetts' most dangerous and addictive artist is back with 15 tracks of heavyweight hip-hop, upping the ante on live shows, and providing the final, gut wrenching chapter in this real life saga. Produced entirely by Ice Grill (Sicarii's beat making alterego) this album promises to continue pushing the sonic envelope and shutting that weak sh!t they call "rap music" the f@$k down.
