Video: Ads Antalik - "Gloria Clemente / Mindframe '13" (Tribute to "White Men Can't Jump")

Though young in age, R.A.R.E. Nation's Ads Antalik is old in spirit. An artist that makes sure to always pay tribute to those who have paved the way for his hip hop style (his biggest influence, Pete Rock, especially), Ads delivers his newest music video, "Gloria Clemente / Mindframe '13." The video pays tribute to the classic movie "White Men Can't Jump" while maintaining Ads' modern signature sound, as the young emcee depicts the struggle of using your rhymes as an unknown artist to make a living. The video was directed by Antuks.

J-Zone Album Press in SPIN, Pitchfork, Vice/Noisey and More!
I have no money for any of you, but I've received some good coverage in the media and somehow it's not for something that landed me in jail!
Thanks to all who supported my Peter Pan Syndrome album, watched the videos, read my annoying e-mails, shared my stuff on social media, etc. Here's a few write-ups on my crazy life decisions and the album that may (or may not) convince you to give it a listen:
Many more reviews and interviews can be found at www.govillaingo.com if any of this is relevant to your day. Peter Pan Syndrome is on Amazon, iTunes and Bandcamp now.
Hopefully I can sustain this stuff and not have to go back on LinkedIn again. It took me 6 years to find a picture that I look employable in. I never did get a job on there but I kept getting notification e-mails about my connections making money. And I'm not trying to hear that sh*t at all.

Video: The Godfathers (Kool G Rap & Necro) "Heart Attack"
Courtesy Matt B.
As a pioneer of Mafioso Hip-Hop, Kool G Rap is often cited by fellow emcees and critics as one of the most influential and trend-setting rappers of the past two decades. Whether as a member of the ground-breaking Juice Crew, or his classic LP’s with DJ Polo, G Rap’s influence still resounds today as evidenced by Pusha T’s “King Push” where he name drops the Queen’s emcee “rage against the machine/black Zach De La Rocha/and a cranberry roaster/inside track on a G Rap poster.”
Likewise, Necro has also carved out his own very unique standing in the industry, whether it was playing guitar in a metal band at the tender age of 11, rhyming alongside his brother Ill Bill, producing his own material and for artists such as Non-Phixion, Cage, & Raekwon, or creating his own Independent label, Pyscho-Logical Records, which has thrived for over a decade now and released over two-dozen projects (including nine of his own). Necro has toured the globe many times over, been a participant in some of the genre’s top festivals (Rock The Bells & Paid Dues) and even created his own film production company.
Kool G Rap & Necro have now joined forces and on 11-19-2013 will be releasing a collaborative project as “The Godfathers” entitled “Once Upon A Crime” which will be released on SRC/Pyscho+Logical Records. Today, they release the first video, “Heart Attack,” from that forthcoming project.
Oakland's own Lafa Taylor releases the video "Mixed Emotions", in support of the upcoming release of an extended version of his previously dropped "Mixed Emotions" EP. The LP is expected to come out next spring.
