Hailing from Southern California's own Inland Empire, just 50 miles East of Los Angeles comes the underground hip-hop trio Specific, Master Chief and Dj Sway Deeze known collectively as the Magnificent Ruffians. The groups' name was inspired by the Shaw Bros. Kung Fu cult classic "The Magnificent Ruffians".

The music video for "Exclamation Point" artfully captures the essence of what a growing part of the population seems to be voicing: feeling overwhelmed and jaded in an overstimulated world while trying to navigate through the chaos to find inspiration and happiness. Juxtaposed against a driving, insistently simple drum line comes melancholy sweet piano chords and a hook from singer Forrest Day reminding you to "slow it down" and to ignore things that get overused like an exclamation point.
Flatbush representative Mic Handz gets the visual treatment for his single "My Life" as featured on Alterbeats sophomore compilation album, Class Struggle. Featuring cameo's from Boot Camp Clik's Buckshot and The Rocknes Monstah, along with Alterbeats himself, "My Life" takes us on a tour of Kings County from Cortelyou and Parkside, to the Seth Low Houses and beyond. "Ain't a crumb that I'ma see let go, I'm tryina get it in this life that i know.." Class Struggle is now available for digital download via iTunes and on CD through Fat Beats.
Video: Drumma Boy Conducts Memphis Symphony & Launches Sparkling Wine
Drumma Boy, one of the industry's most sought after music producers, recently announced he is the new partner and Brand Ambassador of luxury sparkling wine brand Moreno BHLV. As the new face of the "Beverly Hills Las Vegas" fine wine, the celebrity producer was honored with two limited edition "Drumma Boy" bottles dubbed "Hat" with gold foil brut and "Suit" with silver foil brut, available now on morenobhlv.com.
"I feel excellent about representing the Moreno brand and feel I represent the lifestyle of Moreno quite well. Fashion, wine and art have always been some of my favorite combinations, and I enjoy the mix of involvement," says Drumma Boy. "As brand ambassador of Moreno, we're looking to enter areas that haven't had much presence or awareness. Areas such as the Bahamas, where we've closed a deal with the Atlantis Hotel; Florida where we've closed a deal with the Fountain Bleu hotel; the state of Georgia where our sparkling wine will be distributed by National; and the tri-state region of Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas, which is my biggest market."
While adding Brand Ambassador to his impressive list of current titles, Drumma Boy recently offered his amazing musical talents to his hometown NBA team the Memphis Grizzlies. The classically trained musician produced and conducted a stunning halftime show at the 2013-2014 season opener with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and dance sensation Lil Buck. "Working with the Memphis Grizzles has been a dream come true. I always envisioned myself sitting on the floor of my hometown NBA team and rooting us on during the playoffs, which actually became a reality for me. I'm honored to be able to assist in the talent that comes through the city and provide entertainment amongst my community," he notes. The creative musician will continue to assist the Grizzlies' talent department throughout the NBA season.
Drumma Boy has worked with some of the hottest names in the business including Young Jeezy, T.I., Kanye West, Chris Brown, Usher, Lil' Wayne, 2Chainz, T-Pain, Waka Flocka Flame, Wiz Khalifa, Drake, Gucci Mane, Ludacris, and Rick Ross. He continues to produce hits such as "Best At It" on R. Kelly's new album dropping in November, "Freaky Shyt" on Chris Brown's "X" album due out in December, and is also currently working with Angie Stone, Wiz Khalifa and August Alsina. The producer extraordinaire is riding a wave of success from his new mixtape "Clash of the Titans" with DJ Paul, released to rave reviews with features from the likes of 8Ball, Jelly Roll, Young Dolph, Trae Tha Truth, Gangsta Boo and Gorilla Zoe. He's also in the studio putting in work on his much anticipated "Welcome II My City 3" mixtape, expected to drop at the top of the New Year.

FAKE FOUR IS SET TO RELEASE LOUIS LOGIC'S FIRST ALBUM IN SEVEN YEARS! LOOK ON THE BLIGHT SIDE IS OUT NOVEMBER 12, 2013.
In the backpacker heyday of Sandbox Automatic and Hip Hop Infinity, Louis Logic was a booze-soaked jester tucking everyman musings beneath snarky punchlines accompanied by the production of J.J. Brown, Celph Titled and Memo. The early momentum of his career, marked by positive press, Eminem comparisons and collaborations with the Demigodz, slowed somewhere along the way between chasing skirts and blackouts on tour as Louis lost proper sight of his craft. Though he continued touring and quietly plotting his next big move, seven years passed between official releases.
Louis Logic announced his return to the indie rap world through a series of comeback shows in Brooklyn in late 2012 and early 2013. As he debuted challenging new material and won over notoriously folded-arm New York City rap fans, one could see the spark return to his eyes and know that for the first time in a long time, it was all about the music.
Louis spent the gap between Fat Beats release Misery Loves Comedyand Look on the Blight Side studying voice, piano, and music theory and collaborating with Copenhagen-based surf/hip hop/Balkan fusion band Spork Kills, garnering MTV attention in the process. Now a full decade removed from his underground classic Sin-A-Matic, Louis has matured into an eccentric auteur brandishing newfound crooning chops under self-produced, sample-free arrangements.
On Blight Side, Louis outlines the pitfalls of his career (“A Day Late and a Dollar Short”), turns a rapid-fire sociological lens on NYC trust fund hipsters and serves as a direct response to his falling out with a former producer (“Chip Off the Old Blog"), discusses the ugliness of machismo and homophobia (“Big Fish Eat the Little Fish”), and stares down defeat and existential malaise (“Look on the Blight Side”), all with the wit and grinning self-deprecation one has come to expect from the man since “Factotum” dropped way back in 1999.
Louis Logic’s long-awaited third LP, Look on the Blight Side, sees the light of day on November 12 via Fake Four, Inc.

GUERILLA ARTS INK & ASHERU PRESENT: SLEEPLESS IN SOWETO
Feat 2X Grammy Nominated Artist Raheem Devaughan
Album Drops November 12 | 40-Anniversary of the Universal Zulu Nation
Emcee, educator, activist, and Pan-African are just some of the titles that describe the artist Asheru. Perhaps best known today for writing and performing the theme song to the highly rated Boondocks on Adult Swim, today, Asheru is excited to announce a project that he says he is most proud of: Sleepless in Soweto, a 13 track album that was recorded while traveling between his home in DC and South Africa. Inspired by the kinship he found with the people of South Africa, Sleepless In Soweto, features Grammy nominated Raheem Devaughan and the Ethiopian born, Grammy-nominated artist Wayna. South African featured artists include Hip Hop Pantsula, ProVerb, KG, and Teepee. The LP will be released on November 12, 2013, the 40th Anniversary of the Zulu Nation. Production on the album is shared by Omar Hunter El (Mr. HU), Funk Ark, Thaso, and Choppy Chop.
With the goal of highlighting the unique bond between African-Americans and Africans through hip hop, the result is a modern, Pan-African hip-hop album filled with thoughtful lyrics, skillful delivery, and raw musicality. Ahseru incorporates hip-hop, African house and Afro beat throughout, all with live instrumentation. The opening track, "Simphiwe's Theme," a Zulu name given to Asheru, which means "it/he is given to us." Another Grammy nominee, the Ethiopian-born singer Wayna, can be heard on "No Matter Where You Go," a track detailing the history and progress of the African-American story, and all of the work left undone.
The lead single "Gauteng," which means "Land of Gold," is dedicated to Johannesburg and features Raheem DeVaughn on additional vocals. "Gauteng" is the home province of Johannesburg, and the chorus reflects the people, the culture, and the love Asheru has received not only in Jo'burg, but all over SA as being "worth more than gold".
After a successful run as a member of the group Unspoken Heard in the late 1990s-early 2000’s, Asheru has continued as a solo artist for the past decade. Finally, Asheru has numerous previous releases under his belt, including 3 Stars, 2 Bars in 2008 which featured Oddisee, Grap Luva, Phonte, Insomnia Vol. 1: Sleepless in Japan (2007), Insomnia Vol. 1: Sleepless in DC (2006), 2003 48 Months LP, Soon Come (2001), the EP Jamboree (1999) and Cosmology (EP/1997).
Sleepless In Soweto will be available November 12, 2013 worldwide
Deltron 3030 is excited to release their video for "Melding of the Minds," which premiered via Esquire. Justin Lee directed the animated video, and said the concept for the video was inspired by the song, reminding him of "the feeling you get when you're out in the city late at night tagging and running in the shadows." As a result, the video features, in Lee's words, "a badass little b-girl" being chased by an unidentifiable, though certainly unnerving, monster.
