Building upon the inaugural year line-up that focused on Dance, Hip Hop, and Electronica, Governors Ball 2012 will also incorporate Indie Rock, Americana, and Pop acts. There will be a distinct vibe to each day, with Saturday mirroring the lineup featured at Governors Ball 2011, and Sunday's bill focusing primarily on the expanded genres. Single and Two Day tickets will be available, as well as VIP packages.

A limited quantity of Pre-Sale tickets for the event will go on sale this Wednesday, February 22nd at 5 am EST via Living Social. A direct link to this pre-sale will be made available on GovBall.com.

The expansion of Governors Ball in both number of days and variety of performers further establishes the festival as the premier gathering for music fans, not only in New York City, but the entire Northeastern United States. This coming years festival will also be moving to Randall's Island Park, an oasis of green space on the East River, nestled between East Harlem, the South Bronx, and Astoria, Queens. Founders Entertainment is excited about the opportunities presented by the new location including improved venue facilities and expanded transportation options for attendees. In addition to being accessible by bus, foot, bike, car, and cab, the festival will provide shuttle bus service from Williamsburg Brooklyn, and ferry service from Mid-Town Manhattan to and from the festival grounds. The venue will be limited to a capacity of 25,000 per day, creating a unique and intimate festival experience when considering the world-class artists on the bill, and Governors Ball's location within the largest metropolitan area in the United States.

Beyond amazing performances from some of today's premier musicians, Governors Ball 2012 will feature unique art installations throughout the festival from local and international artists. Highly regarded New York City based food trucks and restaurants will be on hand to provide a variety of cuisine options, high-end beer, wine, and spirits. Details on additional festival activities similar to last year's will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

Bucking the prevailing trend of ill fated NYC area music festivals, in its inaugural year Governors Ball was a stunning success, drawing over 20,000 attendees to bask in the sun and take in 12 hours of non stop music from artists including Girl Talk, Pretty Lights, Big Boi, Neon Indian and Empire of the Sun among others. Founders Entertainment looks forward to building upon this success with Governors Ball 2012.

From pioneering the independent rap hustle to starting his own festival, Cali emcee Murs has always been a trailblazer. To that end, he proudly presents Yumiko: Curse Of The Merch Girl, a brand new album and graphic novel available exclusively through Kickstarter. The album and novel unite to tell the story of Yumi Morales, a girl living the fabled tour life working the merchandise table for her boyfriend Dominick's band Murder Acts.

The 124-page graphic novel is illustrated by Jose Garcia, written by Josh Blaylock and the ten-song album - whose lyrics are printed in their entirety throughout the novel - is produced entirely by DJ Foundation. Yumiko is available only via the project's Kickstarter page, where a range of different pledge options will get you everything from the novel and CD to exclusive apparel, custom download cards illustrated by David Mack and Jim Mahfood, and a personal thank-you note and Twitter follow from Murs.

Followed by the release of the album and book, an animated music video will officially be unveiled at Murs' party during the Comic-Con convention in San Diego. "Yumiko is hip hop and comics done correctly," says Murs of the project. "Comics have always been a huge inspiration to me. And having the chance to publish my own comic is truly an honor. Working with my partners to create this book was a lot of fun and we are looking forward to making our dream a reality with the help of the fans."

The wait for the Santigold’s album, Master of My Make Believe, is almost over! Today she releases the first official single, “Disparate Youth.” Produced by Santigold and Ricky Blaze, the track is a contemporary rebel song with a new spin on punk & reggae that underscores its message of pushing through all roadblocks and claim “a life worth fighting for.” The track is available on iTunes and you can listen to it here.

Last month Santigold released the video and MP3 for “Big Mouth” to great acclaim. Santi calls out all trash-talkers on “Big Mouth,” with a schoolyard taunt melody backed by an explosive carnival beat that will shake the streets from Bed-Stuy to Baja. The track was produced by Switch and Buraka Som Systema and is available for free download at www.santigold.com. Watch the video here.

What's good fans, friends, family and all random dunnies! Gunwings is a revisit of my 2010 release Barrels For Feathers. I am bringing back this album and presenting it with a new flavor by creating new beats for all the songs, singing all of the hooks and melodies differently, adding new verses, features and other content.

I am very proud of the original album, but due to many circumstances, like a publicist scamming us and various timing issues, Barrels For Feathers never got the proper campaign that I feel the music deserved, as a result it is very slept on. I've wanted to make Gunwings for a while and with my release schedule being full, I haven't really had the opportunity till now, and I'm very proud of the result. Enjoy!
