After leaking the audio last week, David Banner presents the video for, “Believe,” featuring fellow Mississippi native, BIG K.R.I.T off his upcoming mixtape, “Sex, Drugs and Video Games,” scheduled to be released on 5-22-2012.

“Sex, Drugs and Video Games” is a free mixtape, but Banner is asking for fans to support “The Movement”.  The goal of “Sex, Drugs & Video Games” is to show the world Urban music is still valuable. And how is he going to do that? Banner needs 2 million of you to download this mixtape for free, then he needs the same 2 million of you to donate at least $1 to the movement; but feel free to donate more, as there is no maximum donation.

And what is “The Movement” you may ask? This movement is to start controlling our own music, movies and content…PERIOD! As David Banner states “We are not simply characters in a video game being controlled by the invisible hand.  Once this donation goal is met, I’m going to shoot a movie that will drop 5-22-2013 and a portion of the donations are also going to charity.  Big shout out to Louie C.K. for the motivation.  Download this mixtape for FREE and make sure to support the movement."

Video: Headsnack's "Antisocial Networking" Skewers America

Is society enriched or diminished by its obsession with social media? The costs of the latest cultural phenomenon are brought to light by the artist Headsnack in his satirical new song "Antisocial Networking."

Techno-solitude isn't the only target at which Headsnack takes aim with his biting satire. Texting drivers, virtual role-playing gamers and sordid chatrooms are hit upon, as well. The rapped verses' dark, comic tone is offset by an insidiously catchy hook that echoes the vapid, universal refrain "take a look at my Facebook."

The video for "Antisocial Networking" complements this sarcasm. Produced and directed by Dennis Lucido, the short film presents a deconstructed desktop filled with assorted windows that pop up and vie for the viewer's attention. The visuals and rhythm evoke another era of music videos.

So yes, this de-evolution will be televised. If a danceable diatribe doesn't venture into the Facebook forest it probably will not get heard, after all. "Antisocial Networking" even seizes upon this conflict of interest, as Headsnack points the finger directly at himself as he asks listeners for their virtual thumbs: "I'm just a bitter hypocritical cyber-pirate/using Facebook to promote this in hopes that you will buy this!/So spread this virus on your mobile devices/until you and two million others 'Like' this cause for crisis."

Headsnack is the latest project from Phon-X, founding member of the groundbreaking hip-hop act Regenerated Headpiece.

Earlier this month, billy woods announced an April 10th release date for his forthcoming album, History Will Absolve Me. Along with that announcement came the video for "Headband," a song that won't actually appear on the album, and so, as the release date fast approaches, woods is excited to debut the album's first official single, "Body Of Work," featuring Masai Bey and Roc Marciano.

The track, produced by Willie Green, is one of the earliest that the emcee and beatsmith recorded for the album, snatched up after woods heard Green making the beat live in the studio and had to have it. "The inspiration for 'Body Of Work' comes from chain-gang spirituals," he explains. "All of the verses concern themselves with work, but also with getting older and trying to sum up one's life, for better or worse."

For the concept to work, billy knew he needed some other voices on the song but it couldn't be just anyone. "I knew I needed some older cats on it," notes woods, "Masai is as old-school as it gets and I've been a big fan of Roc since the UN days." Each rapper adds their own personal experiences and perspectives, bringing the track to life with three unique and insightful perspectives. Of his own verse, woods had this to say, "if you are familiar with the land issue in Zimbabwe and South Africa, the content of my verse might be a little clearer but really, there is a universality in there. What is the line between working and stealing, between when you think you deserve and what you have?"
