Burnt Fingaz Presents J-Roots & Reds - Cool & Deadly EP

Burnt Fingaz Presents J-Roots & Reds - Cool & Deadly EP

Courtesy Park Street PR.

Hot on the heels of his recent Burnt Fingaz 2 compilation, producer J-Roots teams up with Reds of Chronic Redeye and Soldjasoulz to bring you a gritty, one emcee/one producer project that takes it back to the essence of the art form and should get fans of that hardcore Boom Bap flavour turning the volume up a notch and reaching for the king skins.

Raw street reports with heavy wordplay over big drums and chopped samples is the order of the day here as the Burnt Fingaz camp return with another slice of hip hop served in it's purest form - strictly for the love of the music with no regard for radio friendliness or commercial viability. From the underdog's anthem of 'E.A Sh*t' to the meat hook realities of life served up on 'Report From The Real' this project confirms that HHC Magazine (RIP) where correct in labelling Reds and the fam as ''true children of the sound system age... here to stay''

For those that have been sleeping, Reds is an emcee that earned his stripes spitting at sound system sessions in the nineties and formed his own Chronic Redeye Music imprint in 2004 which has seen him recording with artists such as Bronze Nazareth, Main Flow, Timbo King and Deadly Hunta, along with numerous cuts with the artists in his immediate circle such as DPF, Franko Fraize and Lyrical T. No one in the East does it quite like this.

In a time when a lot of music has been cleaned up to within an inch of its life, J-Roots and Reds have taken a rawer and organic approach to recording which allows the listener to be immersed in the smoked out, cognac soaked vibes that these N- City basement sessions produce. One take straight spitting with no punch-ins is the style here, strictly real talk and sick loops combined with cuts from resident turntablist Professor Breakz. The result is hard hitting. Time to see who can take the weight...

Los Angeles, CA, November 2011 – Following his full length debut, “For the Rest of My Days”, released through Fat Beats Distribution last September,  Hip Hop producer, The Silent Titan, drops his second single, "So Exquisite" featuring Prince Po from the legendary Hip Hop group, Organized Konfusion.  Aptly titled, the song allows Prince Po to wax poetic about his status in the game as well as his impeccable mic skills. With thumping bass and crisp snares permeating the track, The Silent Titan reminds listeners that the classic Hip Hop sound is alive and well.

Adam Bernard's "Muscle For Your Hustle" Available Now!

From Adam B:

For years artists have told me I should write an advice book for musicians looking to make it. As a journalist I’ve been covering music for over a decade with a focus on independent and underground artists. I also had a radio show for five years that focused on the same. Now I have finally put together 22 of my best artist advice articles into one e-book - this e-book.

Broken up into three sections - Promotions, Performance, and People Skills - this e-book is all about helping you, the artist, look at what you’re doing and how you can do it better. I’m not here to change your style, I’m here to show you some of the ways you can build your career.

Also, here's a feature SOHH.com did where I gave five reasons people should buy it: http://www.sohh.com/2011/11/whatever-you-want-to-do-kick-some-a-doin.html
