PremRock is proud to announce the release of "Step Right Up" produced by: Yuri Beats as the first single off of the NYC based artist's upcoming conceptual project “Mark’s Wild Years.” The album is a deep examination into the catalog of Tom Waits, one of music’s most uncompromising and boldly talented artists, seen through a hip-hop re-telling fashioned by Prem's signature sound.

Far from a traditional “cover album” the project exhumes some of Waits’ most moving works by either sampling or re-creating musically a re-interpretation of the original work. Prem’s lyrics adhere to the concept of the original record drawing inspiration while crafting his own style on top. Easily one of the boldest concepts of the year, PremRock hopes to turn on a new fan base to the music of his favorite living artist, while creating another album that stands on it’s own in his catalog.

Featuring production from frequent collaborator Willie Green (billy woods, Open Mike Eagle), Brooklyn’s buzz worthy Steel Tipped Dove (Kool AD, Big Baby Ghandi), NYC’s Yuri Beats (Chiddy Bang, Mr. Muthafuckin Exquire.) and even contributions from overseas producers, Mr. Simmonds (UK) and Talpas (CZ. Rep.). The album draws from a diverse pool of talent, each of which add their individual flair to the project.

Covering topics which range from Consumerism, to religion, to boozey rail-road trips to even holiday greetings from foreign prostitutes. Everything from the subject matter to the basis of the project promises to be one of the most interesting of the year. Also accompanying the release will be a three week, 13 city tour with Philadelphia MC, Has-Lo & CT and Fake Four representative DJ Halo.
