I know a lot of people wanna pursue music, and it's a tough industry but I believe it can happen. Just have to have the means to do it, the culture, background, and most important the sound (talent, lyrics, etc.) My style of music would have to be music with substance, storytelling, high end (Art Rap) a new genre possibly!
Fans have been waiting since 2005 for a new studio album from underground hip-hop icon R.A. The Rugged Man, and now they know when they'll be getting it. In a new video, the Rugged Man announces the details on the album, titled Legends Never Die, including the April 30th release date. R.A. also reveals the producers on the album (Marco Polo, Buckwild, Apathy, Ayatollah, and more), plus features from the likes of Tech N9ne, Hopsin, Talib Kweli, Brother Ali, Vinnie Paz, and Masta Ace.
The Pacific Northwest offers pine lined mountain ridges, picturesque lakes and some of the most serene, uncorrupted beauty that one is likely to find in America. It also offers the ominous grey skies that pervade Seattle and often seep into the pores of its inhabitants. Cody Foster, the artist better known as Sadistik, calls Seattle home and knows the natural splendor as well as he knows the seasonal affective disorder that can carry on long past winter.
Flowers For My Father, which features guest shots from Cage, Deacon the Villain, Astronautalis, Ceschi and Child Actor, marks Sadistik's first solo long player since The Balancing Act and charts his growth in spades. Evolving his style to a more synthesized rendition of a signature cinematic Seattle sound, the new album displays a distinct juxtaposition of Sadistik's complex, vulnerable writing with textured, ambient production handled by the likes of Blue Sky Black Death and Kno of CunninLynguists. The result is his most mature and revealing project to date, with lush soundscapes lifting Sadistik’s verses from a vast darkness.
Shortly after the release of The Balancing Act, Sadistik's father tragically passed. Never one to shy away from heavy topics or keep his personal life personal, Sadistik wrote Flowers for his late father, choosing to treat each song as an update of what has happened in his life since. This is reflected in writing that delves into depression, heartbreak, optimism and the struggle to make sense of the ever-shifting pieces in the world around him.
Sadistik will be doing an in-store at Silver Platters in Seattle on February 23 at 3pm along with an album release show that same night at Nectar Lounge with DJ Abilities, Chicharones, The MC Type, Graves 33 & Maulskull.
Flowers For My Father is now available via Circle Into Square, iTunes, Amazon, Access Hip Hop and UGHH.

OUT NOW! Spectac & Shakim - For The People & Free Single DL
Courtesy Kevin Nottingham.
South Carolina bred Hip Hop lyricist Spectac returns after a long three year hiatus with For The People, an album of all new material produced by DJ Shakim.
Long-time Spectac fans can look forward to a more aggressive Spectac as he tackles recent issues surrounding politics, relationships, and other relevant subject matter. Production-wise, For The People is producer Shakim's first official effort... though it would be hard to tell as the veteran deejay has a keen ear for soulful samples and displays impeccable drum work.
In celebration of today's album release, we are giving fans a free download of the title track "For The People!", which is a much softer side of Spectac & Shakim than the album's first single "Moment of Truth".
The entire album is available now for download on iTunes, DJBooth and anywhere else digital music is sold. Physical CDs can be purchased at UGHH.
Video: Stalkz Featuring Jacob Rohde - Brave New World456

Stalkz is undoubtedly one of the Australia's most talented emerging young hip-hop artists. 2012 has seen him carve his way through the live circuits supporting International and interstate acts such as DJ Krush, Cut Chemist, Class A, GDP, Fort Kilsby, 2Dogs (Resin Dogs), DefWishCast and Kerser.
Now in 2013 Stalkz returns with his debut single “Brave New World” off the coming EP "We Never Left".
The single “Brave New World” captures in detail the many varying aspects of desperation and indulgence. It’s an honest and direct account leading you through the deep lows and great heights of extravagance, and it’s toll on the human condition. The song is set on the Gold Coast and its narrative is raw, gritty and most importantly, true. It deals with themes of culture, politics, addiction and truth in a uniquely poetic format.
It’s mellow instrumental was assembled by U.S super producer “Vherbal”, well known for his work with artists such as Vinnie Paz, Canibus, R.A Rugged Man & Sean Price. Singer/song writer “Jacob Rohde” adds his distinct vocals to the songs catchy hook, collectively creating an unforgettable piece of music.
As a part of the single release there is also a couple of remixes available to tend to the varying appetites of listeners, one of which is of the Jazzier Hip Hop vibe and has been produced by yet another very talented new addition to the Australian music scene "Zeed Mantis". Then we have a funk lounge mix, thrown down by the Respect Music Records resident funk outfit "Rubber Johnson" giving a whole new vibe to the track inclusive of Instrumental, No Rap and Acapella mixes for the DJ's that like to mash things up!
Lastly the single is accompanied by a powerful, dirty and thought provoking film clip, which takes the viewer on a journey from the vandalised streets of an abandoned neighbourhood to the affluent business precincts of the city. Reminding the viewer to look deeper than the surface, because often, looks can be deceiving.
With guest appearances from Ghostface, Action Bronson, Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, Roc Marciano, Vinnie Paz, Cappadonna & additional beats from DJ Premier & Oh No, you can expect nothing less then top notch production and rewind worthy lyricism from CZARFACE. "We are CZARFACE because they know our faces and they know us for being dope rhyme suppliers, like Tony Montana we are known for our balls and our word; lyrically we will conquer the world and everything in it” states Deck. Esoteric explains further, “CZARFACE is a vigilante, anti-hero character who serves as the face of the project, and his focus is on annihilating the media darlings that the mainstream caters to.”
