Courtesy Nora Ritchie.

In the world of hip-hop, Atlanta-based Boog Brown spreads her "Dope Girl Magic" like her life depends on it and returns us to the roots of a genre that has literally changed the world. Currently based in Atlanta, Detroit native Brown is not only an emcee, poet and publisher; but she describes herself as a "lover, fighter and artist." This is reflected in her personal style, lyrical approach and unique perspective. Boog Brown is currently signed to Mello Music Group (home to Oddisee, Apollo Brown, Gensu Dean and more).

Today, Boog Brown teams up with director W. Feagins, Jr of High Impact Multimedia to bring us the video for DMV producer Nick Tha 1Da's remix of "Shine." Shot in a stark black room, the video leaves all the bells and whistles to the wayside and simply lets Boog spit. The song appears on Boog's Brown Study Remixes and will also appear on Nick Tha 1Da's upcoming album Give Tha Drumma None. Boog's lyricism on Shine strikes a balance between rugged and emotive with a lyricism that bends her words into a concise rhyme pattern that nimbly graces Nick's soulful and driven remix.
