ok I hope some of you got that!

my favorite italian gal in the entire world and a person I have known for a quarter of my life has won a Grammy. I have known people who have been nominated but never won. My producer Belief was also nominated but he lost, and worse off he didn't even go to any parties. But he did take his Mom, which was really cute. Matisyahu was nominated before but never won. She will be playing at [OY VEY SXSW day showcase.] @ Spider House. http://www.facebook.com/events/507291325980077/

I think this is just the beginning for Sirah, and she inspires me so much. Just the year before I was reading some old texts about how we should go to Grammy parties and get discovered. one year later she is accepting an award with Skrillex!

follow her on twitter and tell her how tall she looks in those fly ass heels:)

Anika is releasing a self-titled EP on April 16 via Stones Throw. The release is highlighted by stormy post-punk riffs, rattling tambourine beats, a thin, dissonant guitar and Geoff Barrow of Portishead and BEAK>'s on-point production. Like the singer herself, "Anika" is dark, minimal wave and induces a very delicate atmosphere - haunted by Anika's deadpan vocals.

J.Walker Re-Releases Debut Album Before Leaving Music Business

Los Angeles, CA, February 2013 – Rapper J.Walker is giving his debut album “Ambitions of a Writer” one last push before embarking on a new life path. Expecting his first child, the award winning spoken word artist, rapper and educator has decided to re-release his first album to mark the life-changing event. “Ambitions of a Writer”, a collection of thought provoking songs which doesn't mind sometimes using humor to get its point across, reminds listeners that there is indeed room for “grown up rap”.

The soon-to-be father wants a final opportunity to let the world know that rap music isn't just a teenager's game. To that aim, songs ranging in subject from personal introspection to love bring fans on an unexpected journey through the mind of a multi-syllabic wordsmith who respects the art enough to give it the dimension it deserves. Walker says, “as humans, we have various life experiences that we shouldn't be afraid to tackle in song. There's no rule that says rap music can only be limited to 3 or 4 topics. With that said, neither is there a rule that says rap can't be witty and humorous. I want my child to one day understand that his father wasn't scared to show his full humanity through music.” The song “Grown Up Rap” is a perfect example.

His latest video, “I Still Drink 40's”, is a light-hearted comedic ode to the notorious alcoholic beverage made popular by many 80's rap songs. “It isn't so much about condoning drinking as it is reminiscing about an old guilty pleasure”, laughs Walker. No stranger to having fun through rap, as the resident poet on Fox Sports Radio's Loose Cannons Show, J.Walker uses his gift of gab to improvise raps about the latest sports news. Loved by listeners worldwide, Walker gets big respect from the show's main host, radio/tv personality Pat O'Brien. “I have worked with and been around everyone in the entertainment industry for decades. When it comes to putting words together in a crafty, creative way, nobody does it better than J.Walker, nobody.”

If that weren't enough, even legendary Hip Hop icon KRS-One co-signs J.Walker. “This person is trying to stretch your head out with Hip Hop as therapy, as healing...beyond entertainment.”

Although J.Walker doesn't plan on pursuing rap as a career, he isn't retiring from rap. Professionally, Walker uses rap as a therapeutic tool for youth with learning disabilities. Publicly, he'll continue to do shows and keep sport fans entertained through his impromptu radio freestyles.

“One day, I just want to be able to tell my kid that daddy contributed to rap music in his own little way, even if he never did it for fame and money.”
