MP3: J. Rawls f/ Edo.G, Copywrite + More - "Are You Listening"

To celebrate the release of his new album The Hip-Hop Affect, Ohio producer J Rawls presents one more leak from the album, the east-west posse cut "Are You Listening?"  Bringing together Dogg Pound affiliate Bad Azz, Boston veteran Edo G, Ohio MC/MHz member Copywrite, and Beat Junkies DJ Rhettmatic on the scratches,  "Are You Listening?" is an unlikely but surprisingly natural collaboration.

Video: AKIR Presents "Is This The End?"

While in Cali last month, I had a great time visiting the good people at Alchemetric in San Fransisco. I arrived at the studio with Lil Mike ready to work but with no idea what to expect. We sat around for about an hour and I came up with about five hooks to five songs (while everyone else was drinking and ate bbq, much to my chagrin lol). Fortunately my songs usually come out better when I'm hungry; here’s my latest example.

Here it is: "Is This The End?"

Bay area-based duo Rel & JBillion (Rel on production, JBillion on vocals) are releasing their debut album _MVMNT_for free today.

FREE ALBUM DOWNLOAD - MVMNT: http://mvmntsf.bandcamp.com/ .

The album represents the burgeoning new hip-hop scene bubbling in the Bay area and the movement to bring this music back to the forefront. MVMNT features guest appearances from Tha Jacka, Enoch & 1 O.A.K. Both Rel & JBillion are mainstays on the Bay area hip-hop circuit alongside DaVinvi, TiRon, Keelay and more.

Tied strongly to their Bay roots, the duo features San Francisco as a main character in both videos from the project. For their first video "Once In A Lifetime," Rel, a man of many talents, took on video directorial duties. The video was filmed at San Francisco's beloved Mexican grill Papalote, known for winning a culinary battle against the Food Network's Bobby Flay for their "Triple Threat Burrito." "Soul Clap," the 2nd video from MVMNT and also directed by Rel, was set in the streets of San Francisco. The video is a snapshot of daily life in the bay with JBillion asking, "If you ever lived in the ghetto but got out that shit, or still in the ghetto with the goons and the pits, Can I get a soul clap*"

From Mello Music Group:

Audio: Oddisee - "I'm From PG"

Oddisee has a busy and fruitful year ahead of him.  "Odd Seasons" which is out today via Mello Music Group, is just the beginning of a string of releases coming out in 2011 that will surely satisfy die hard fans and newcomers alike.

"Odd Seasons" is the the culmination of four separate seasonal EPs created over the course of a year and for the first time, all four seasons have been mixed, mastered, refined and polished.

Today, enjoy one of the album's standout tracks entitled "I'm From PG," an ode to his hometown, declaring "I'm From PG, I rep DMV!"  Jeff Weiss for LA Times commented on the song "For those new to Oddisee, it's a worthy introduction: sinuous soul music firmly rooted in a sense of self and place."

Enjoy and feel free to post and share.
