2012 has been nothing short of a breakout year for IamSu!. The 22-year-old popped up with a triple-threat performance on LoveRance's "UP!," which Su! produced, penned the hook for, and guested on with a scene-stealing verse. The song peaked at number one on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and in the midst of that success, Su! again delivered a fan-favorite verse on a big-time radio single, this time with E-40's "Function." Su! followed that success with a solo mixtape, KILT, and the critical acclaim came in droves, as the project was hailed by SPIN as their Rap Release Of The Week, with the outlet also naming Su! as one of their 5 Best New Artists for June '12. Su!'s been plenty busy since – a west coast tour; a collaborative mixtape with Jay Ant; a standout collaboration with Wiz Khalifa, "Bout Me," that appeared on Khalifa's Cabin Fever 2 (The Invasion produced the track, along with four others from the tape) and will also show up on his sophomore album, O.N.I.F.C. Now, IamSu! is prepping a new mixtape, $uzy 6 $peed, which will be released exclusively through LiveMixtapes on November 10th. The tape will be presented by Bay Area streetwear company Pink Dolphin, which will release an exclusive t-shirt and hoody for the tape.

Today, IamSu! is releasing the first single from $uzy 6 $peed, "Mobbin'." The song, premiered by SPIN, is self-produced by Su!, who operates behind the boards as part of his production collective The Invasion, and the track is built around a catchy, slinking synth line and heavy 808 drums. The song, as with the rest of the tape, according to Su!, is about the quest and desire for success, but done with youthful exuberance rather than eye-rolling redundancy. "It's raw and energized," says Su!, "and from that energy, and what I'm saying, I want people to go out and get what they want in life – money; a college degree; a new job."

"On our way to back Philly we would always pass a slightly scary looking tent city on the side of the highway in Camden NJ. We were fascinated by it, we wondered what goes on there, who lives there, and what the people were like. One day we finally mustered up enough courage to go inside. We arrived in the afternoon, and after walking up the long dusty path we were immediately greeted by Country, the assistant Mayor of Tent City. We were blown away by his charisma, charm and overall positive outlook on life. He was so interesting that we spoke to him close to 30 minutes before we even knew that he was a singer. Once he sung a few notes, we knew we had to feature him in an episode."
