Hypnotize Minds Lyricist @Lil_Wyte_ Preps Fifth Solo Album

From Dove @ Tygereye:

Is Lil Wyte Still Doubted? Hypnotize Minds Lyricist Preps Fifth Solo Album

Independence is the name of the game for veteran rapper Lil Wyte. After more than a decade in the spotlight, the Memphis songwriter has amassed legions of fans worldwide, and consistently attracts new listeners from his catalog of intense solo and collaborative albums.

On June 19, 2012, Lil Wyte will release his fifth solo album Still Doubted via his own Wyte Music Records, in conjunction with Three 6 Mafia's Hypnotize Minds and Memphis-based indie powerhouse Select-O-Hits.

The 17-track project and two bonus songs will feature appearances from some of Wyte's most intriguing Hip Hop peers, such as Pastor Troy, Project Pat, $hamrock, Bubba Sparxxx, Frayser Boy and Young Buck. Producers on Still Doubted include Lex Luger and Wyte Music's in-house beat specialist Big BOI Beats.

In a landmark decision for their Hypnotize Minds label, Three 6 Mafia gave Wyte the green light to set out on his own for Still Doubted. Although Wyte has released other projects on Wyte Music, this is the first official release of his own work on the imprint.

Lil Wyte notes that his lead single "Sike" is a personal favorite from Still Doubted, while "I Do This" brings more a personal tone to the project.

"The song "I Do This' is about me being able to do my thing in the studio, on stage and in life, no matter what state of mind I'm in," Wyte explains. "No matter what, I will get the job done! 'Sike' is the nationwide debut for Miscellaneous, who is a new artist on Wyte Music. It's a fun track, something I usually don't do in music. Both of the songs were produced by my in house producer Big BOI Beats."

Wyte asserts that he had complete creative control over this project, and fans can expect a "new, but old school" version of his polarizing style. Lil Wyte feels that support from his label family has elevated his career with each album, and Hypnotize Minds has inspired him every step of the way.

"DJ Paul and Juicy J have always wanted me to build a brand, and not be just another artist on the label," says Wyte. "I started Wyte Music with Thug Therapy, and was able to sign such acts as $hamrock and Miscellaneous."

Once Still Doubted debuts, Lil Wyte has a number of projects to follow up with in 2012. He is aware that the pressure is on now more than ever to prove that Wyte Music is here to stay.

"We have an album for Miscellaneous in the works, and a second $hamrock album," Wyte says. "We are dropping albums on Lord Infamous and Thug Therapy. We'll also have a free mixtape by me and Miscellaneous entitled Elvis Meets BB King. I have grown a lot since Doubt Me Now, and it's time for me to show!"

@Oddisee: The People's Verdict + The Gold Is Mine

Oddisee: The People's Verdict + The Gold Is Mine

A couple of weeks ago some friends of mine decided to test my forthcoming album People Hear What They See on some random people on the streets of DC & London as an experiment... without telling me.

I was fascinated by the responses given in this video. I'm used to reading reviews of my album by journalists & to be honest... whether they're good or bad, I rarely agree with them. There was something so refreshing about my work being critiqued by total strangers. People with no agenda, just hearing music from an unknown artist & giving their honest opinion. In today's world, that's a rare thing.

I really enjoyed what the older gentlemen had to say about my album. There were a few points I felt I over produced a bit. Loved what they guy in the shades on the bench said too. All of it really! What I liked most was the fact that people who had never heard of me, surprisingly enjoyed my work. Almost as if, they were surprised they could like something they didn't know of. What does that say about how music is pushed today? If I was seen in videos, plastered on walls, on television... Would they have been less surprised in their appreciation of my work? (whispers the title of his album)

and here's another video to check out as well... http://oddiseemusic.blogspot.com/2012/05/gold-is-mine-video.html .

Director G.M. for Ce Con De Chat took the inititive of creating a video for my track The Gold Is Mine for my Odd Renditions EP. Be sure to watch.

New Audio: Rilgood f/ Maffew Ragazino "Who Should I Be?"

From Matt B:

New Audio: Rilgood f/ Maffew Ragazino "Who Should I Be?"

It's a "Brooklyn thing" today as two of arguably the best spitters coming out of Brooklyn join up for this story track entitled "Who Should I Be." Rilgood made a strong imprint onto the game earlier this year with his JFK Mixtape that hit the blogosphere by storm and was spotlighted by some major media outlets such Hypebeast and Prefix Mag. Produced by Woodro Skillson, his compadre Maffew Ragazino provided an impressive assist on the record with fearless wordplay as well and will be featured on Rilgood's upcoming Great Expectations mixtape due out in July.
