Tricky's album False Idols is due May 28th on the artist's own label of the same name. After sharing the track "Nothing's Changed," the consensus seems to be unanimous: Tricky hasn't sounded this good in years. In the first official video from the project, Tricky's imposing presence is juxtaposed with footage of a unrest and upheaval, adding to the song's overall menace. "Does It," which features vocalist Francesca Belmonte, will be available as a digital single release (backed with "Nothing's Changed") on April 15th.

The song, "Kill The King", much like the album Flowers For My Father, is a departure both musically and personally for Sadistik. "It basically means to kill your ego,” Sadistik explains, “in order to gain objectivity and express yourself with honesty.” The video is a direct manifestation of that outlook, depicting a girl amidst the trials and tribulations of her own drug addiction as well the resulting struggle to see who she’s truly become.
Audio: G&D (Georgia Anne Muldrow & Dudley Perkins) - "PopStopper"

G&D describes it as "brimming with confidence and exuberant energy," and that exuberance is evident from Georgia's opening couplet, as she sings, "Don't ever think that you're alone/ Cause loneliness can grow/ Into something that you can't control/ Long as you got a heart, you're at home." The production, like all of the best work from G&D, is driven forward by an off-kilter swing that sits against the beat's on-the-one feel, and Dudley takes full advantage of the track's movement.
I recently teamed up with long-time friend and fellow ATL Emcee/DJ/Producer Yamin Semali (Clan Destined) for a special remix. The track "Never Leave" along with it's amazing video have been taking the internet and streets by storm. Infectious melodies, hard hitting drums, and clever lyrics are hard to deny.
Mitch's music was noticed by King Tech of The Wake Up Show, of which "Feel It" was an exclusive track recorded and aired weekly on Sirius XM/Shade 45's The Wake Up Show, "Feel It" was produced by Amp Live. Mitch was a finalist in The Wake Up Show Rap Battle where Sway and Tech took notice of his skills, and then offered him other opportunities on The Wake Up Show.
The Virginia emcee, Awon has released "Pimp Talk" which is on his free mix tape, For The Grimy (Searching For Soulville). This is just a further extension of the journey that For the Grimy takes you on in search of Soulville which can be described as an era, a place in time, or a state of mind.
Inspired by the soulful sounds of the 60s and 70s, Soul Beautiful is comprised of 12 tracks containing the classic, fresh throwback sound of producer Amiri, and the vivid, poetic storytelling style of Spectac. Standouts include the album's first single, “I Grew Up”, which includes an infectious hook by singer Najee; the no-holds-barred, 1930s sample-laced banger “This, That, & Tha 3rd”; and the smooth, mellow title track “Soul Beautiful”.
