November 28th 2011 -- After a nearly three year long musical hiatus, veteran New Orleans, Louisiana, rap titan, Michael "Big Mike" Barnett, returns to the spotlight with his brand new, highly anticipated solo opus, Bayou Classic: Love.Faith.Honor.Loyalty.

On the superior 12 track collection, the former Geto Boys' alum continues to exercise his tried and true lyrical prowess, over trunk-rattling, feel good down south instrumentals. Future classics include; the hard hitting "Bayou Classic," "That Come Back" is a slickly layered head-nodder, there's, of course, the block anthem "Certified," "Hands on Airythang," the set's lead-off single, is a notable party starter, "Rocket," a ultra-smooth ride along an ebbing bass-line, whilst "2 Die" is a thought provoking radio ready inevitable hit, to name some.

About Big Mike: As an original member of the short-lived rap duo, Convicts, Mike later was recruited by Mr. James Prince himself to replace the Geto Boys' Willie D following his sudden departure. The end result was their heralded 1993 fifth album, Till Death Do Us Part. When Willie eventually returned to the group shortly thereafter, Big Mike opted to instead go solo, unleashing his critically acclaimed premiere outing, Somethin' Serious, in June '94. He has since gone on to drop an additional five reputable LP's.

Bayou Classic: Love.Faith.Honor.Loyalty will be released on iTunes and other major digital outlets, as well as at select retail locations, on Tuesday December 13th 2011.

So once again, I am back to present to you may latest labor of love, "Black Soul"... "Black Soul" is a project that manifested after researching different forms of Black Liberation Theology, and the history of Black American music as a form of rebellion. I personally feel that it is my best work to date, as I worked extremely hard on stepping up my craft in terms of lyricism, depth, and delivery. The production is the most "traditional" sounding beats... When I say traditional, I mean "eastcoast/boombap/sample" esque production, the type of Hip-Hop a child of the early 80's would be raised on. This project is for the people in general, and the "heads" specifically.

This project is available for FREE DOWLOAD on my marcelpblack.bandcamp.com page, as well as http://www.mediafire.com/?o438jn1ilbi9u3z.
