From Park Street PR:

PR: Baron Von Alias - "Move Over" (prod. Khrysis)

Baron Von Alias the Time Travelling emcee from  the UK has returned. After achieving two top 3 hits in the US College Radio Charts and gaining rave reviews for his latest album 'Out-of-Body Experience', The Baron has proved he has a consistent work rate to match the best of them.  Hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne in the North of England he has bombarded us with albums since his arrival in 2007.

The Baron is held in very high regard by various hip hop blogs and review sites and has recently been chosen by the BBC to be part of the BBC Introducing Stage at Radio Ones Big Weekend Festival performing alongside the likes of Foo Fighters, Black Eyed Peas, Tinie Tempah, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and many more. The BBC have a history of picking all the stars of tomorrow so all bodes well for the Baron in the near future. Starting off this year's festival proceedings in the UK with the BBC Radio One Big Weekend Baron is also performing at the Evolution Festival alongside the likes of Tinie Tempah, Plan B and again many more.

February 2009 saw Baron Von Alias become the MySpace featured artist after the release of the Mechanism mixtape, which lead on to his first official album release in April 2009 named 'Timepiece'. The Baron has since released numerous albums and singles on iTunes all gaining wide internet coverage and great reviews. Baron also has a very interesting selection of videos that accompany many of his tracks, which are all well worth a look having won Best Hip Hop video by Ourstage.com for 'Silence Masks' in 2008, the videos have only become more and more zany and insane.

Acknowledging the craft of his contemporaries the Baron has been joined on his intricate time travel through the present day by a hand picked selection. The likes of Hip Hop heavy weights such as Guilty Simpson, Oh No, Khrysis, T3 (Slum Village), Frank N Dank, Wildchild, MED, Wordsworth, Melanie Rutherford, Prince Po, Steesh, Foreign Beggars and many more are enjoying the enthusiasm and originality which Baron Von Alias exudes, with a new album on the way and brand new Khrysis Produced track 'Move Over' as the lead single it seems there is alot more to come, sooner than you think. As the Baron proves 'Time waits for no man'.

From Scheme773:

MP3: Scheme (Molemen) - "Solitaire" (prod. ILL Brown)

In "Solitaire" Scheme talks about the experiences he might have missed on while pursuing his dream. If you ever have had something in life you are passionate about, you understand that most of the times it takes a great deal of sacrifice to accomplish your goals. What were once priorities, now become after thoughts, and what were once dreams, now become a reality. At the end, it's all worth it, even though you may lose some on the way there. Either you follow your path, or you let them deter you. Produced by Chicago's own ILL Brown, the song captivates the good and the bad experiences one might miss out on the road to success.

Video: Rowdy-T Northlondon - "Shut Em Down" (Yung Berg Diss)

From Grandplaya Entertainment:

Video: Rowdy-T Northlondon - "Shut Em Down" (Yung Berg Diss)

Full Download: Inc mp3/pic: http://www.sendspace.com/file/b5lagf'

Rowdy-T Northlondon is a UK hip hop artist based in Miami Florida.  He was notoriously catapulted to the world stage by World Star Hip Hop and Youtube as the man who had a beef with Yung berg and Jacked him of his diamond encrusted Batman chain.  There has been no shortage of celebrity media interest in this story to feature Yung Berg & Rowdy-T Northlondon.

This mixtape “THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH” lives up to its expectation of being filled with passion and craft; whilst there is no shortage of Rowdy-T repping  his UK North London postcode.

Rowdy-T has powerhoused  himself into the music  business with drive and passion, undoubtedly making him shine as his true potential as an artist shimmers through.  This is a truly a unique listening experience with a few tracks of self examination and expression; amongst a powerful club banging track “UMAD” which has the potential to be a commercial hit if sanctioned by 50 Cent.

Lyrically Rowdy-T has reinvented himself since his last album “YOU KNOW DA NAME” by maintaining his independence and producing most of the beats that he spits on.  Proving his ability and range, he delivers rhymes from passion and untamed lyrics which are undiluted, unpretentious and charming yet retaining the gangster elements of what this mixtape is about.  Rowdy-T still delivers a track or two for the ladies that is sweet and seductive yet disarming the ladies of an exclusive relationship with him.

Rowdy-T Northlondon has collaborated with American hip hop artists who are affiliated to Rowdy-T Northlondon’s Wolfe Gang unit based in Miami.  After listening to this album and learning more about the UK, he leaves  the Yanks with a lingering message that North London UK is not just a cup of tea.

[VIDEO] Socalled - "Sleepover" trailer

Montreal’s grand musical mash-ter-mind Socalled has announced the release of his fourth studio album Sleepover in the U.S. via MB3 Records (Royskopp, The Zoobombs).  The digital album will be released 5/17 with a physical to come later this summer.  Few artists can add musician, producer, composer, arranger, filmmaker, photographer, visual artist, and magician to their resume, but Socalled clearly doesn’t subscribe to limits.  Somewhere between folktronica, electro-funk, Canadiana, neo-soul, rap and dancehall, SoCalled’s Klezmer sampled beats, full band workout, melodic vocals and emcee contributors are unlike any mash up you’ve heard.  His latest album boasts an international supporting cast of no less than THIRTY-FOUR contributing musicians ranging from rap pioneer Roxanne Shante, the beautiful voice of Katie Moore, dynamo musician and producer Chilly Gonzales, king of calypso The Mighty Sparrow, 95 year-old pianist Irving Fields, funk trombone god Fred Wesley and legendary NY underground emcee, C-Rayz Walz just to name a few.

The creation of Sleepover is documented in The Socalled Movie a full-length DVD movie that gives a first hand look at the individual Socalled.  Following Socalled on tours around the world, on the creation of image-rich videos that get online views in the millions, recording with Fred Wesley and unleashing sleight of hand parlor tricks mid-set is some of the feats documented within.  The film has been screened at a multitude of film festivals this year including SXSW, The 20th anniversary NY Jewish Film Festival, The Toronto Film Fest (a full list is below).   More info at: www.SoCalledMusic.com

Socalled will be performing and screening his film on Monday May 9th at the L.A. Film Fest, info here.
