New track from Local-Mu12 Member THE 17th entitled "Rubbish,” produced by Vanderslice and featuring Spoke In Wordz from Denver, CO and Fokis.  “The 17th is an artist from New London Connecticut, and he and I actually have an entire album sitting in the stash that is crazy.  Here is the first single from his upcoming EP, Free Music, which will be dropping in late August. The 17th is vicious on the mic and his word play is something else" Says Fokis.

Nas's classic "One Love," originally produced by Q-Tip, gets the remix treatment by Fearce & BeanOne (of Dyme Def). Using the first two verses off the original, Fearce adds a first person narrative for the middle verse, playing the role of the inmate that Nas is writing. On production, Bean flips The Supremes 1966 classic "You Can't Hurry Love." Stay tuned for more remixes from these two Seattleites. #YukTheWorld

Video: @KyleRapps & @Diwon - "Mr. Rogers"

From Emily Sullivan:

Video: Kyle Rapps & Diwon - "Mr. Rogers"

Last year, Kyle Rapps broke out with two impressive projects, his Kev Brown-produced Re-Edutainment EP and his Air-sampling On Air mixtape, a collection of projects that found the Harlem-based upstart collaborating with the likes of Talib Kweli, Joell Ortiz, KRS-One, and more. The first half of 2012 has been equally busy, and has seen Kyle branch out as he continues to work with new collaborators, the most recent of which is producer Diwon. Together, the rapper and producer released their Tyrone Gosling EP, a free project inspired by the 2011 thriller Drive, and now, they're prepping a new mixtape, Syndication, to be released this fall, which pulls its samples from a variety of classic TV theme songs.

Up first from that tape is today's single, "Mr. Rogers," a track built around a sample of the theme song from the classic kid's show. The video, directed by Robbie Barclay, is a funny, lighthearted clip that pulls a variety of classic clips from the original show, with Kyle's head superimposed, rather expertly, on the body of Mr. Rogers. Despite the humorous video, however, the song isn't all fun and games. "I grew up in the David Dinkins era of True York City - the grimy, the gritty," explains Kyles Rapps. "The song is an ode to the pre-gentrified, pre-Disney'ed-out days."

Audio: Sir Michael Rocks f/ Rockie Fresh  -"Can't Hide It"

Coming on the heels of a prolific 2011, where he dropped three solo mixtapes (The Rocks Report, Premier Politics, Premier Politics 1.5), and a 45-city tour with Mac Miller in the first half of 2012, Rocks displays an advanced and mature sound throughout Lap of Lux.  Producers on the collection include Cardo (Taylor Gang), Hit-Boy and J.Hill (Chief Keef) as well as his partner in The Cool Kids, Chuck Inglish while features include Casey Veggies, Mac Miller and more.
