Video: Krista - "Hypnotized"

From Audible Treats:

Video: Krista - "Hypnotized"

Raised in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn, a neighborhood rigidly defined by cultural identity, where a stroll down the streets is a kaleidoscopic merge of colors, cultures, and flavors, Krista used her roots as inspiration to release debut album, Taking Back Brooklyn on J Records in September 2009 and opened for Kelly Clarkson's summer tour months before its release. She's back with a brand new video to kick off summer in style.

Krista's new single, "Hypnotized," is a catchy summertime party jam with a driving beat, the perfect soundtrack for a hot, carefree summer night out with friends. Shot at various locations in Brooklyn and NYC, the video chronicles an urban journey from Krista's basement house party into the streets of the city. As news of the impromptu party spreads through word-of-mouth, more friends of friends join the party, which quickly outgrows the basement and spills onto the streets and subways of NYC. Soon, they end up at the famous Canal Room where Krista performs "Hypnotized" for a packed and sweaty crowd, singing, "Take me where the music is loud so I can break free / That's the place where I wanna be."

MP3: Marlon Rando - "Weird Science"

From Audible Treats:

MP3: Marlon Rando - "Weird Science"

Mid-Fi Bop and Roll Band Drops First Single and Announces EP Release

The Song:

New York City duo, Marlon Rando, is the brainchild of singer/guitarist Greg Timmes (member of the garage rock band Web Dating) and jazz drummer Jeff Wilkins. The two coin their music as Mid-Fi (middle of the road fidelity) as opposed to the Lo-Fi style that has become well known in the Brooklyn indie rock scene. The band makes music "that all the kids can bop to," claims Greg Timmes.

With their upbeat single, "Weird Science," the tongue-in-cheek lyrics go hand in hand with the band's name. Despite the group's seemingly adolescent demeanor, Timmes describes "Weird Science" as "a purging of emotions" with relentless drum fills, washed out vocals, and an overdriven guitar. The song emphasizes minimalism with a two chord vamp as the verse and the delightfully simple guitar riff featured in the intro and breakdown while there is an absence of any traditional solo. The off-putting last line of the track will leave you dumbfounded with the bold testimony "If only you would fall in a k-hole and never come back ever again."

Marlon Rando will be releasing their five song, self titled EP June 29th with more singles to be dropped along the way.

PR: Big B's "Bad Girl" From "Music For Misfits"

From James @ Kerosene Media:

Big B's "Bad Girl" From "Music For Misfits"

To celebrate his stint on this summer's Van Warped Tour, Las Vegas based Big B has released his new single “Bad Girl” online with AOL Noisecreep at http://www.noisecreep.com/2011/06/08/big-b-bad-girl-song/. The track appears on Big B's new album "Music For Misfits" which hits stores on June 21st via Suburban Noize Records. The album collects all the classic songs that fans have come to love, along with a smorgasbord of new tracks and his collaborations with Everlast, Scott Russo from Unwritten Law, and Tech N9ne.

“I've grown musically over the years but I still have some classic songs on my past albums,” commented Big B. “This is just an album for new and old fans alike to enjoy, and learn a little bit about me and where I come from.”

Big B's eclectic style of alt-rock transcends genre barriers, as he prepares to unite fans of rock, hip-hop and punk-rock each day on this summer's Vans Warped Tour. Big B joins a diverse line-up for this year's tour that also includes A Day To Remember, Pepper, Less Than Jake, Gym Class Heroes, Yelawolf and Unwritten Law.

“No disrespect to any artists but I feel like I'm more punk than a lot of the bands on this year's Warped Tour,” he says. “I know going into this tour that some people won't be into my music and I'm cool with that. For the people that like what I do, I can only go out and give them a good show every day. To me music is music; it's all about what you like. You shouldn't have to worry about what other people think or have to dress a certain way just because it's the in thing to do.”

Big B's laid back grooves and infectious hooks have been spreading like an epidemic as fans have seen his performances on sold-out tours with punk-rock legends Pennywise, reggae rockers Pepper, and hip-hip pioneers House of Pain. Big B's latest studio album “Good Times & Bad Advice” debuted at #13 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and features collaborations with Everlast, Cisco Adler (Shwayze, Whitestarr), Pepper, and Cash Money rapper Glasses Malone.
