New Rob Rush joint produced by Maclane. Rob has been behind the scenes mostly making the Rec-League machine work but he stepped into the booth this week on this heavy west coast beat produced by the new Rec-League secret weapon, Maclane. You can hear Rob on QM‘s release “Happy Hour“, as well as Richie Cunning‘s mixtape “Late Night Special“, also running the merch booth for Richie Cunning while he was touring with the mighty Hieroglyphics. Rob Rush was featured heavily on last years Rec-League release “Season Two” as well and continues to work on all angles of the Rec-League / Routine Fly operation.
Rob is also me, the guy sending you these emails each weak. Thanks for the love!
January 31st 2011 -- Native Virginian, singer-songwriter, Angela "Mecca" Scott is definitely no stranger to the recording industry. As a matter of fact, her first foray into the business came courtesy of, arguably, the hottest emcee in the game, Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter.
That's actually Angela Scott scattin' her way through the catchy chorus on the Ski produced, "Feelin' It," which samples Ahmad Jamal's "Pastures," the fourth and final entry from Jigga Man's platinum-plus classic solo debut, Reasonable Doubt .
Angela later went on to appear on notable songs from the likes of Camp Lo ["Sky Box"] and AZ ["Your World Don't Stop"], with her most recent offering being "Google Me," which she wrote for Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak. After a few false starts stemming from both shady business deals and personal hardships, the impressive veteran songstress has valiantly returned and is more than ready to take the music world by storm.
Currently readying the release of her "official" premiere outing, Angela Scott vs. Mecca, fueled by her brand new Marcus Frazier (Track House Productions) laced warm-up single, the appropriately titled, "I'm Free," 2011 is already shaping up to FINALLY be the year of Angela "Mecca" Scott -- Brace Yourselves! www.meccastylemusic.com .
Here is a joint from my album Working Class Legend: Overtime that I dropped recently. The song is My People. It's produced by my homie Stona straight from Poland! It's one of my personal favorites from this project. I discuss my thoughts on the current state of hip hop. Not just the music but the culture that plenty of people seem to have forgotten.

Haterville has been a long standing moniker Chicago's hip-hop/rap scene has had to face through out the years due to the 'crabs in a bucket' mentality associated with the competitive nature of the music.
