Heavy Metal Kings is a new collaboration album that brings together two of the most critically-acclaimed and commercially-consistent rappers in the independent hip hop scene of the last decade, ILL BILL (Non-Phixion/La Coka Nostra) and Vinnie Paz (Jedi Mind Tricks/Army of the Pharaohs).  For years fans have been clamoring for an albums worth of material from these two lyrical beasts, and now it is finally here.  The group also just debuted the bone chilling video for the track “Blood Meridian” last week to celebrate the album’s release.

From First Team Music:

Video: Quanstar - "Yayo"

On April 21st, Quanstar's 4/11 hits the pavement and starts running. The EP is one of 3 that he is scheduled to release this year and will not disappoint. With the music done solely by the brotherly tandem of Lexzyne Productions, Quanstar was given free regin to explore their beautifully composed tracks with complete creative license. The result was a wonderful, hard hitting, intense, and great project.

The first single, "Yayo", is a testament to just that. The song uses metaphors and alliteration to talk about the 80's drug culture, and how crack took hold of the streets. The passion of the song is supported by the music that gives viewers a visual picture. Other stand out tracks on his project are "Groove With You" featuring the 19 year old phenom, Life Unda, "Sure You Want It".

PR: D Banga Scores High on College Charts with Shorty

From Melanie J Cornish:

D Banga Scores High on College Charts with Shorty

Brooklyn lyricist D Banga has seen a positive response on the College charts with his single Shorty, produced by ‘Philly’ Cash. The song, which currently sits in the top ten on the Rap Network Chart and at number 12 on the Rap Attack Chart, is a strong introduction to the fledgling lyricist and a mere taste of what is to come.

Gaining attention from the likes of AllHipHop.com, Rapreviews.com and the NYC based online mag, BirthplaceMag.com, D Banga and his team are making all the right moves to solidify his presence on the Hip-Hop timeline. His mantra at making songs to help people eradicate the tribulations of daily life is what sets him apart from his contemporaries.

Having lived the street life, this MC has opted not to advocate it in his rhymes. D Banga wants his followers to understand that he is about enjoying life and not dwelling on misfortune and negativity. Linking with Justo award winning and former XM DJ, Furious Styles will see the Brownsville native release a new mixtape for free download later this spring.

“I feel this opportunity to allow people to hear an entire project from me will make everyone understand that I am not just a ‘hot single’ rapper,” D Banga explains. “Coming from NYC there is always pressure on MCs to deliver and I thrive on that, even though we are seeing Shorty do well on the charts, this isn’t a time for me to sit back and be all complacent about it, I am just grinding in the studio to make sure I have more product to feed to the streets and the fans.”

Resilient to the politics of the music industry, D Banga is keen to show people that he is in this for the long haul regardless of the issues an up and coming artist might face. While working on a video to accompany the summer smash, Put Your Hands Up, will allow fans to experience the visual aspect of D Banga he is also setting up various performances around the tri-state area over the up and coming months to give fans of Hip-Hop the opportunity to see him perform live.
