Sandpeople's 4/20 celebration has started early. Today OnlyOne released the 2nd installment of his collaborative project with Northern Cali-based producer Furtado Yuen (the first is available here). Vol. 2 is a brief but potent dose of OnlyOne's raw delivery over Yuen's soulful, hard-driving beats. Up and coming Chicago producers, Odd Couple have pretty busy over the past few months working with the likes of Sasha Go Hard, Chance the Rapper, XV, and their most recent drop 'Thug Angel' by Alex Wiley. Today they drop 'Pink Champale' a Chi Town banger featuring some of the cities brightest including King L, Mikey Dollaz, Big Colour, as well as drops from DJ Victoriouz. All who are all currently contributing factors to the Drill music that's making the Chicago Hip Hop scene favorited through out the nation. The track also serves as a memoriam to Pink Champale, a tasty beverage that once was. Be on the lookout for Odd Couple's new beat tape 'Odd Couple Beat Tape Vol.1' Which is set to be released in the next month.
"Adapt" is a song about the simple fact that for something to live on, it must adapt. The same goes for the music industry. An artist can always rise, but to stay afloat, they must always evolve with the market. Such is the thin line between doing what you believe in and what expectations that may come with the endless tides.
