Remember that D-Sisive review earlier this week where we talked about his reference to Jason Schwartzman's "West Coast?" Well it turns out that he HIMSELF sampled Jason Schwartzman on a previous "Jonestown" installment. Thanks to DJ Complejo for this tip.

MP3: Camp Lo - "Jimmy Page (Straighten It Out Freestyle)"
Camp Lo's 80 Blocks from Tiffany's album, a collaboration with the legendary Pete Rock, comes out summer 2011. To build momentum for the project, they tabbed Trackstar the DJ of the Smoking Section to assemble a mix of blends of Camp Lo a capellas as well as four new exclusive freestyle tracks, all over classic Pete Rock beats, fortified by a selection of unreleased Camp Lo tracks and remixes. Executive produced and hosted by DJ Mark DiVita, who spearheaded the project as Camp Lo's tour manager, the 80 Blocks mixtape showcases the Luchini duo at their best--spitting their fly and unique slang over beats from one of hip hop's greatest producers.
Here is the first single, an exclusive freestyle over a classic interlude from the first Pete Rock & CL Smooth album, featuring cuts by yours truly:
The full mixtape drops in two weeks...on behalf of Camp Lo, Pete Rock, Mark DiVita and myself we appreciate any and all posts, reviews, and mentions.
I just finished a rather spur-of-the-moment project with Trifeckta, one of the main producers from The Force. You may not know his name, but if you listen to my mixes, you know his work (Rockwell Knuckles' Government Name & Shooting Star, Tef Poe's Monster, Gotta Be Karim's Early, Family Affair's Sunshine & Vivid Imagination), and he won the St Louis regional Red Bull Big Tune beat battle last year before losing to eventual champ 14KT in the national finals. I put together a quick 29 minute mix demonstrating Trifeckta's best beats, and it came out very dope, if I do say so myself. Check it out here:
