MTV’s SWAY CALLOWAY BRINGS MC’s SAIGON AND JOE BUDDEN TOGETHER TO RECORD SONG FOR ALBUM “THE GREATEST STORY NEVER TOLD”

For Immediate Release

Hip Hop Beef between MC’s is a familiar topic that’s discussed and reported regularly. We see the rivals play out on music, print and online. Most of the time, the rifts never end and sometimes remain for years.  We’ve heard some of the greatest music come out of the beefs.  Then there’s special occasions where MC’s see the bigger picture, bury the hatchet and do something positive.  These historical events must be featured to show it’s bigger than the music and we all evolve.

MTV News Correspondent, Sway Calloway became the conduit to cement a truce between MC’s Saigon and Joe Budden.  The two have been serving slurs and diss records back and forth over the recent years that caused a stir in the hip hop community.  During Thursdays live interview on MTV’s RapFix, host Sway Calloway asked Joe Budden about the rivalry. He also asked Budden about doing a collaboration with Saigon for his upcoming debut album, The Greatest Story Never Told. Sway told Budden that Saigon always thought Budden was a dope MC.  Joe Budden replied, “Let’s Do it.”

Less than eight hours after making the historical pact, Sway convinced the two MC’s to head uptown to Harlem studio, Stadium Red to record the Just Blaze produced track, “Bring Me Down.”  Saigon and Joe Budden laced the re-mix with hot spitting lyrics that won’t disappoint fans and hip-hop lovers.

Saigon’s highly anticipated album, The Greatest Story Never Told releases on February 15, 2011 on Suburban Noize Records. Joe Budden's Mood Muzik 4-A Turn 4 The Worst is now available.

Latest Track From Roachy Balboa 2 Provides Strong Concept and Development

The Song:

As the January 4th release date of Roachy Balboa 2 inches ever closer, Bay Area emcee Roach Gigz continues to leak tracks off the forthcoming free mixtape. The latest in the series of leaks is "Hold Up" and features a guest spot from Oakland's own J Stalin, who has stayed busy by releasing more than four albums worth of material in the last year, including the lauded Prenuptial Agreement on SMC Recordings.

This latest single features the rapper's signature high-energy delivery but, much like with his last leak, "The Dopest 2" the beat is more electronic and less pervasive than those featured on the original Roachy Balboa. The song also contains a strong narrative based around the driving factors behind one's need for wealth and financial stability that climaxes in a hook, sung by Roach himself, and lines like, "We all chase the same thing, vain dreams/ If your money talks, I'mma make mine scream," while also injecting anecdotes "Trust goes missing/ Do it for the love, don't do it for attention/ Do it for your blood, don't do it for the leeches/ They don't got your back/ When you're trapped, they're speechless." With this track, Roach has assembled a strong concept, guest spot, and strong verses, all showcasing the depth and development of his skills as an emcee.

Roach Gigz' Roachy Balboa 2 will be released January 4, 2011.
