Earlier this month, Freeway performed at the A3C Hip-Hop Festival in Atlanta. As part of the performance, the Philly lyricist performed, "Jungle," the lead single from his forthcoming album Diamond In The Ruff, which will be released on November 27th via Babygrande Records. Following the performance, Freeway took some time out to speak on the new album, taking a moment to chop it up with Just Blaze, before revealing more details on the album.
Like that of DJ Shadow, RJD2 and Four Tet, UK based artist Little People aka Laurent Clerc plays downtempo hip hop-based electronic music. His debut album, an ode to late 90s instrumental hip hop, has gone on to be in the top 30 selling download albums on iTunes in the electronic genre for the last 2 years. His sophomore LP record "We are but Hunks of Wood" (released on Youth & Progress Recording on October 9), part beeps, bleeps and real live instrumentation falls somewhere in between Bonobo and Explosions in the Sky would hypothetically meet.
As CoolHunting.com explains, "[Little People's album is] "...a cinematic journey--complete with bird-like sounds and outer space bleeps--that's well-suited for all-nighters, whether spent working or simply lounging."

Here we are today, and I'm about to release my 5th project to date. I can honestly say I'm the most proud of this project, because of what each and every track means to me personally. Each track tells a small part of my journey, that can be interpreted in so many ways it's not even funny. I also wanted to create something that the listener would be able to interpret for themselves personally as well. The project will mean many different things to many people, and that's the way I wanted it.
I'm excited for what the near and far future has for me in music. There are some things going on behind the scenes that I would've thought was a joke two months ago. But things are slowly being worked out, and worked through, and new things are still coming!

"R U Down?" marks Chippy's newest material following the release of her eclectic, party-inducing EP, #MONEYDANCE101. Never one to do the expected, Chippy swaps her feisty hypersexuality for a more Lolita vibe with this track, offering a glimpse of what the firecracker from The Bay is like once the strobe lights dim. Ryan Hemsworth lends his talents to Chippy's latest track and infuses it with the hazy, ethereal, and whimsical sound that he has become known for. All trapness is not lost, however: while Chippy purrs romantically, Antwon comes through with a solid party rap verse that is reminiscent of Method Man's "All I Need."
June links up with fellow Memphis native Skewby to assist him on the MLK sampled One Day. "One Day" is one of the fan favorite's off his successful debut mixtape EVOL, which is available on Datpiff. EVOL has garnered almost 25,000 streams/downloads since it's 10/25 release.
