After a more than six long years musical sabbatical, pioneering West Coast rap titan, King T, valiantly returns to the stage with his highly anticipated 2nd mix-tape entry, the appropriately titled Still Triflin'.
On the 22-track star-studded blockbuster extravaganza, the self-proclaimed "T-La" unites with many -- largely from Cali -- of Hip-Hop's finest; including, MC Eiht ["Do You Rememba Me"], Xzibit & Butch Cassidy ["Pus-Say"], Eastwood & B.G. Knocc Out ["Catch A Body"], Short Khop, Mitchy Slick & The Relativez ["Sharkz (SuWoopMix)"], Stacee Adamz ["I'm Gone" & "My Angel" with an assist from Raphael Saadiq], 2nd II None ["Good To Ya"], C-Bo & Matthew Aaron ["Nature"], Deadly Threatz & Tha Chill from C.M.W. ["Soul Plate"], J-Ro of Tha Liks ["Step 2 Da Left"], DPGC's Roscoe & Ras Kass ["Dogz Barkin'"], Gangsta Dresta ["My Homeboyz"], the all-star collective 1st Generation ["Sharkz In Da Watah], as well as top shelf New York rappers; Rampage ["It Ain't Eazy"] and Roc C & Sean Price ["Champions"], among others.
About King T: After unleashing his unheralded solo debut, Act A Fool, over twenty four long years ago, King T has, for the most part, been championed amongst his fans, critics and peers alike, and remains a well known and well respected rap artist. Mentored under another legend, Ice T, T-La went onto to do the same for others; including his Likwit Crew brethren; Tha Alkaholiks, Xzibit, Defari, to name a few. The Compton emcee has continued to remain relevant and has worked with a who's who of Hip-Hop heavyweights on all coasts. Everyone from Marley Marl, Eric Sermon and Masta Ace, to Dr. Dre, DJ Quik and DJ Muggs, have benefited greatly from their high profile collaborations with the great King T. He is universally known for his popular albums; the aforementioned Act A Fool, At Your Own Risk, Tha Triflin' Album, IV Life and Thy Kingdom Come, as well as the string of hit singles; "Payback's A Mutha," "The Coolest," "Bass," "Ruff Rhyme (Back Again)," "At Your Own Risk," "Diss You," "Played Like A Piano," "Got It Bad Y'All," "Bust Dat Ass," "Black Togetha Again" and "Dippin'," to name some, that they've produced over the years.
As an early Christmas present to his fans worldwide, Still Triflin'," can finally be unwrapped on Tuesday, December 11th 2012...
Space needle producer Def Dee is easy to catch pushin' the lac, blowin' trees, and bumpin' something fresh. He's like most young 20-somethings. The difference is, that what Dee's pushin' out the speakers is usually his own concoction. When Dee signed a producer development deal with MMG last year, there was no rush, just a desire to hear what the promising beatsmith could do with a little time, some access, and an outlet.
Today, Def Dee is excited to share Numb Again (feat. yU & Hassaan Mackey) the first track off of his upcoming spring release, 33 an'a third. The album is a remix compilation with a twist. Dee took unreleased verses from his MMG brethren, along with some classic verses, and started remixing. Then he called in the spittas to fill in the blanks with entirely new bars. The results speak for themselves. Numb Again features an unreleased yU verse that was originally for his group The 1978ers. After Dee remixed it, he called up the gravel voiced Rochester MC Hassaan Mackey to lay an all new verse down. The result: numb.
TorchBearer Records Presents "Seven Trumpets Sound" By June Marx
Courtesy Naomi H.
June Marx releases the new self produced album "Seven Trumpets Sound" via newly founded TorchBearer Records (est.2012). The elusive sharpshooter is best known for his fluent delivery of vivid, intricately written verses over rugged production. Often described as a hybrid of modern NYC underground hip hop combined with notable figures from the late 90's, Marx's recent offering contains tracks full of thought provoking philosophies set to cryptic, atmospheric backdrops. With a smooth yet intense, calculated flow he is often compared vocally to the likes of Prodigy from Mobb Deep and Nas in his early years.
A mainstay on the independent circuit for the past 3 years, Marx has two solo albums under his belt. Behind the boards once again, like his prior releases in 2010 "Body of God" & "Core of Vengeance", Seven features 25 full length tracks that serve to portray the coldhearted, kill or be killed world that Marx inhabits. HipHopDX called the Iraq Veteran an "accomplished producer who is more than capable of creating beats both portentous and exuberant".
"Seven Trumpets Sound" is June Marx's longest, most ambitious solo album released to date, containing 25 new tracks and 9 guests over stylishly cryptic soundscapes. He enlists a host of American emcees from several regions for Seven. UG of Cella Dwellas, Reef the Lost Cauze (AOTP), IDE (Creative Juices), Chief Kamachi, Life Long, Lone Ninja, Godilla all join in on this post apocalyptic adventure. Marx's delivery is more confident and distinctive this time around, providing over an hour full of intriguing, militaristic concepts. Seven Trumpets Sound is geared to take listeners on a unique and unforgettable journey through the realms of the unknown.

We're trying to get some exposure and happy to announce own music video for you to consider. This is a new track and music video from Wax Society member Kollateral (from Joliet, IL) off his upcoming mixtape called "Meet The Robinsons 2: Blazed & Confused" (produced by a DePaul based producer in Chicago, Cam Marino) dropping this month. We pushed to get creative with the concept and used real 8mm film composites on the video to experiment the gritty look. Hope you enjoy.
Small Professor Returns to The Ring with 'Yokozuna' (Remix EP)
Named after the highest rank awarded to Sumo Wrestlers, Philly beatsmith Small Professor returns to the ring with his latest offering, Yokozuna. The eight track projects consists of remixes taken from his noteworthy debut producer compilation Gigantic, Vol. 1, which was released back in January. As an added bonus, Small Pro offers a new cut titled "The Easiest Way" which once again features Guilty Simpson over a Pro's hypnotic use of strings and keys. This track should also come as a welcomed surprise by fans of Breaking Bad for its well timed dialogue sequence between Walter White and Jesse that takes place moments before Guilty delivers his lyrical assault. The duo make a fitting emcee/producer combination, so hopefully we'll be hearing from from these two sooner than later. Yokozuna is now available courtesy of Bandcamp for the bargain bin rate of $6.00.
