Two of Long Island's most celebrated emcees, the god Rakim and the legendary R.A. The Rugged Man, spent yesterday at Manhattan's No Mystery Studio working on new music together. In this clip, the pair chop it up about Rakim's contentious history with Big Daddy Kane, including the fateful phone call that prevented the feud from escalating. R.A. and Ra are working on a song for a movie soundtrack, and will soon be shooting a music video for the track. More details on the project coming soon.

Last night at the Houston Press Music Awards, The Niceguys took home the "Best Rap Group" award for the second year in a row, and Niceguy DJ Candlestick was awarded "Best Rap DJ"!
In celebration today, The Niceguys have unveiled the new track "265 (Inglorious Basterds)" from their album James Kelley, slated for release on 9/11, as well as a slick, mystical visual for their upcoming video for "Magick".
By trade they are a rapper (Easy Yves Saint), two producers (Christolph and Free) and a turntablist (DJ Candlestick), but the Texas-based quartet blends their collective talent to deliver cohesive, cutting edge songs.
