Press Release: @Easop's Just Getting Started

From ArtistPR Music Wire:

Press Release: Easop's Just Getting Started

In a scene filled with copycats and wannabe's, there's still some true hip hop warriors left trying to make their indelible mark on the world. Jam packed with in-your-face attitude and an unmistakable flair for honest, unapologetic lyric writing, San Francisco's Easop is your ticket to rap glory. Frequently compared to the legendary late Tupac, this songwriting, music producing entrepreneur is surging back into the music industry with a vengeance and a brand new EP.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Easop ignited his hip hop career at the young age of 17, quickly setting up his own independent record label, LOD Music as a vehicle to release and promote his material. His debut record, The Time Has Come landed onto listeners with the force of an anvil, stirring up conversation about his unmistakable voice and ability to weave both harsh street realities and Christian faith together.

Easop catapulted himself headfirst into success with his first single and music video for "Out The Box," which received critical acclaim and national airplay. The track ranked in the top 10 on TVU Networks, and was also chosen by major leaguer Ryan Freel of the Baltimore Orioles as his at-bat theme song during the 2009 season.

Now he's ready to land his next punch, as the Street Gospel EP dropped on April 24, featuring the next smash single, "You've Been Waiting" followed by "How I Do It." Easop's also putting the finishing touches on his record with LOD Boyz, Reloaded, which is due out on May 8. While drawing more comparisons to heavy hitters such as DMX, Scar Face and Slim Thug, this determined, self-made artist is ready to take his music to the next level while delivering a powerful message.

Street Gospel is available through iTunes, and fans can sample a tantalizing taste of Easop's addictive flow as well as the thrilling video for "Out Tha Box" through his official website or YouTube channel. Follow him on Twitter @Easop for all of the latest news and information.

MP3: Marcel P. Black - "Sundown" f/ Lyriqs Da Lyraciss

Today I'd like to drop off a new song from my upcoming EP, "The 1rst Born" (which will be released May 22nd), titled "Sundown", which features the hottest up & coming emcee in New Orleans, Lyriqs Da Lyrciss (@underdogcentral). "Sundown" was originally written when 4 to 5 years ago when I was in the midst of facing personal demons, as well dealing as dealing with the death of my close friend. About 2 months ago, when going thru my gmail, I ran across both the beat and the lyrics, and decided I should release the song, because it shows a different side of me than a good portion of my music. It's very personal, and you can hear the pain & conviction in my voice & lyrics. I wanted to give people a different look from my regular "conscious" material. The record is produced by Houston beatsmith (by way of Baton Rouge) Soulcala. I appreciate you taking out the time to check this record out. The link to the record is below.

From Gensu Dean:

MP3: Ramesses ft. Homeboy Sandman & 7evenThirty

“Ramesses” is a term for ancient Egyptian royalty, Pharaohs to be specific. If Hip-Hop was Kemet, The Imperial Gensu Dean would be among the regal few. At a time when the music is drowned in a sea of thin synths and weak stock drums, Dean consciously keeps it analog, relying on the tried and true SP-1200 and stacks of records.

For his newest single, "Ramesses",  Gensu Dean enlists two up-and-coming rhyme kings in their own right, the dexterous Homeboy Sandman and the ferocious 7evenThirty, to compliment his apocalyptic beat. Matching a mean guitar riff with gunshot drums and a wailing vocal sample, Dean provides intense energy, allowing 7evenThirty to wild out and rap about busting through the side of mountains, mummifying opponents and riding on the back of the Sphinx. Homeboy Sandman provides a good counterbalance; rapping with equal lyrical intensity but taking the everyman route, reminding us of when he would drink water to quell hunger and lie about cutting McDonalds out of his diet.

MP3: Shadowman Boogie - "Capital G Remix" f/ M-1

Born in Miami, FL during the height of the drug trade and raised there during one of it's most violent times, Shadowman Boogie sought refuge in music. This love for music would take him around the world, working with the likes of DJ Spinna, Eminiem, Shabbaam Sadeeq, Jigmastas and even rocking the stage with legends such as KRS-1 and Sadat X. Shadowman Boogie took his music to additional heights when he and his cousin Skam2? formed OldWorlDisorder, putting out releases on Beyond Real Recordings and eventually solo efforts through BBE.
