Visual Funk: Bootsy Collins Fine Art Release on December 1st

From Dunn Deal PR:

Visual Funk: Bootsy Collins Fine Art Release on December 1st

BOOTSY COLLINS, the starry-eyed funkateer who literally put the bass in contemporary music by way of his legendary releases with James Brown, Parliament/Funkadelic and Bootsy's Rubber Band, has announced the crossing of another milestone in his storied career: the release of the first Bootzilla fine art collection. On December 1, 2010, Collins will unveil the result of a lengthy process involving photography, greenscreen, found images and archived elements, undertaken with the aim of isolating and visually replicating what's going on in his imagination.

Every piece in this limited-edition line of 300 will be a one-of-a-kind collectible, each bearing a unique funk mantra created and applied to the canvas by Bootsy himself. He will also number and sign each piece, and add his handprints in acrylic paint. Each piece will feature a number of hidden elements for its owner to discover. 250 of the 300 will measure 40" x 30", while the remaining 50 will weigh in at a whopping 80" x 60". The first 1,500 people to sign up for more information at www.bootsycollinsart.com will receive a 'golden ticket' which will allow them to preview the piece on December 19th, two days before its official public unveiling.

Earlier this year, Collins made waves with the opening of The Funk University (thefunkuniversity.com), the online bass guitar academy masterminded and supervised by Collins himself, with help from guest professors Les Claypool, Meshell Ndegeocello, Victor Wooten, George Clinton, T.M. Stevens, John B. Williams, Divinity Roxx, Thee Ram Jam, Frankie "Kash" Waddy, Bakithi Kumalo, P-Nut and Blackbyrd McKnight. Bootsy's Funk University is produced by SceneFour, the L.A. creativity house responsible for projects with Al Gore's Current TV, MTV-U, Nine Inch Nails, the RZA, Marilyn Manson, The Pixies, and Beck.

MP3: Ghostface + Masta Killa - "Metal Lungies (OG Version)"

While recording his 2004 LP The Pretty Toney Album, Ghostface sent a track to his Wu-Tang brother Masta Killa, hoping for a guest verse.  Killa didn't get his verse in until it was too late, and Ghost ended up putting Styles P & Sheek Louch on the track, which came to be known as "Metal Lungies."  With the release of the Wu compilation Masta Killa Presents: The Next Chamber, the original "Metal Lungies" is revealed, giving fans a little glimspe into Wu history.

The Next Chamber is now available on iTunes, Amazon, and all other digital retailers.  iTunes buyers also get 5 exclusive videos with Wu-Tang concert footage, interviews, and more.

IMAKEMADBEATS Returns With New Track From Dual-EP, Preps Solo Debut

The Song:

Producer IMAKEMADBEATS is at it once again. On the new track, "How Is Your Soul," from the forthcoming dual-EP concept album Daylight/Nightlight, the beat-maker enlists rapper Butta Verses to lend his emcee-skills. The EP, which is the first music the producer has released since 2009's The Transcontinental, his collaborative project with Roc C, is in preparation for his self-titled debut on Doxside Music Group, set for release in early 2011. Though the nature of the collaborations may differ, still present is IMAKEMADBEATS' scientific approach to music, with every detail and nuance carefully thought out and in its rightful place.

Though the song features a relatively lighthearted cameo from TzariZM as "Reverend TZ," the subject matter is decidedly more introspective. "We wanted to just let them know how we felt about ourselves," IMAKEMADBEATS explains. Lines like "I'm gonna search for the truth 'till I find what I'm lookin' for / Everything I've found so far just make me look more," over an organ-heavy beat and the words of the aforementioned "Reverend," carry a message without preaching an agenda. "How Is Your Soul" is about asking questions and the result is a startlingly personal first look into IMAKEMADBEATS' newest project.

Keep an eye out for the free Daylight/Nightlight split-EP, out soon, and IMAKEMADBEATS, out January 18th, 2011.

The Background:

IMAKEMADBEATS has built his reputation on an obsessive dedication to his craft and a mad scientist-like approach to tweaking samples, drums, and live instruments - proving himself to be both a rapper's producer and a producer's producer. Most people first became aware of IMAKEMADBEATS from his 2009 collaborative project The Transcontinental with Oxnard rhyme-slinger Roc C (a project that featured the likes of Oh No, Big Pooh, Rakaa Iriscience, and Chino XL), which subsequently led to the nationwide Smash Mouf Tour. In addition to the much-anticipated forthcoming Doxside Music Group self-titled debut, IMAKEMADBEATS is also unleashing his dual-EP concept album Daylight/Nightlight, featuring Butta Verses and MidaZ the Beast respectively. Also in the works are projects with Beretta 9 (Wu-Tang's Killarmy), his BlakOut album with MidaZ, an instrumental project, and more placements on projects by artists seeking the "IMAKEMADBEATS" treatment to their music.

RADIx BIO
Starting out as two randomly selected roommates, Quite Nyce and SEEK founded a rap duo, RADIx, beginning what is now a successful career. Since its inception, RADIx has released over 12 projects on its self-funded record label Abstrak Recordings, toured throughout Europe three times and toured the USA countless times. Quite Nyce and Seek officially formed RADIx in 2003 and have continued to support themselves independently in order to reach their fan base directly. They received critical acclaim with their debut album, The Staple (2006), which featured Mr.EON, Akrobatik, Insight, DJ JS-1, and Mista Sinista. RADIx has been featured on MTV2, URB Magazine, Performer Magazine, Elemental, and all major Massachusetts newspaper publications.

In 2008, singles from RADIx’s album debuted on Fox. RADIx is now set to gather even more success with its second studio album. The duo has enlisted one of the top producers in the game, Statik Selektah, to produce the entire album. The debut single from the new album, The Return, has already been featured on major hip-hop sites such as 2dopeboyz.com, Nahright.com, and Kevinnottingham.com. Renewed motivation to get the type of acclaim they feel RADIx deserves has already launched Quite Nyce and Seek back into the spotlight.

In 2010, RADIx will cement itself as one of the best groups in the game. Quite Nyce and Seek both know that it will take hard work and dedication, but that is nothing new to a group that started in a small dorm room in 2003 and advanced to perform in front of hundreds of thousands of people.
