Soulja Boy Prepares Juice Mixtape Releasing April 20

April 2011 - Multi-platinum viral marketing wizard Soulja Boy will release his latest mixtape Juice at midnight on April 20th via mixtape hosting site livemixtapes.com.  The mixtape, with inspired artwork from 2Pac's 1992 classic film of the same name, is presented by Atlanta's DJ Scream and DJ Swamp Izzo and will feature 22 tracks.  DJ Scream says, "Soulja Boy's new mixtape is his best to date.  It still has that young vibrant energy that his music has always possessed, but in a more mature fashion."

Music video director Rage, responsible for Soulja's biggest music videos including "Crank That" and "Kiss Me Thru The Phone," is on board to direct three official music videos for mixtape songs "Juice," "Zan With That Lean," and "That Right" featuring Diamond from Crime Mob.  Following the music video releases will be the Juice inspired mini-movie that will feature Soulja Boy, the SODMG roster and cast members from the original film.

"I'm always in touch with my fans and thinking of new ideas to stay fresh and original" states Soulja Boy.  "A lot of thought and planning went behind the Juice concept.  I hope they like it."

From Audible Treats:

Video: Kyle Rapps - "Rent Remix" Feat. KRS-One

As Kyle Rapps continues to celebrate the release of his debut EP, Re-Edutainment, the NJ-born, NY-based emcee is excited to release his second video from the project for the song, "Rent (Remix)" featuring the legendary KRS-One. Fans may remember the original, released back when Kyle was still performing under the moniker Black Skeptik, but this new version of the video provides a darker feel, a perfect pairing with the vibe felt through the song's instrumental and message. "I wanted to remix the original 'Rent' song that I did with KRS-One and add a more serious and dramatic vibe to strike a chord with landlords and tenants worldwide," says Kyle. The video begins in Kyle's dank and dimly lit apartment amidst the hustle and bustle of Harlem streets. Cutting to homeless children on the sidewalk begging for spare change, the video makes a bold statement on the plight of families living in the city struggling to survive. The setting goes even further showing young boys and girls picketing in front of an establishment carrying signs, both in protest and despair, reading, "I Have Kids to Feed" and "Rent is Too Damn High!" In the midst of the shocking images and omnimous overtones in Kyle Rapps' revamped video, his main message is clearly delivered: "Stop raising rent. Know your tenant rights."

Video: Donwill - "Can't Shake It Easy"

From Audible Treats:

Video: Donwill - "Can't Shake It Easy"

Donwill - Shake It Easy from 5846 Films.

The timeless phrase "breaking up is hard to do" is the basis for Donwill's newest video for his song, "Can't Shake It Easy." The fourth visual to come from the Cincinnati-born, Brooklyn-based MC from Tanya Morgan stays true to the concept of his debut solo album, Don Cusack In High Fidelity, which is Donwill's musical interpretation of the cult classic film, High Fidelity. "The album is based on being in a state of perpetual pre-mid-life crisis," says Donwill. "Nothing in life will give you all the answers, but this album will help people find some of the answers they might be looking for."

Donwill explores the personal turmoil and regret of breaking up with his video for "Can't Shake It Easy." Following the release of his optimistic video for "Breathe," he enlisted the talents of Queens-based 5846 Productions to capture what a lonely guy does after leaving his girl. With the chorus questioning "Tell me what I need to take/ Cause maybe I need a drink, or two," Donwill is seen tossing back shots and gulping down Buds to try and numb the pain. But as he realizes in the video, sometimes burning all the depressing memories in an alley way is the only way to cope.
