Iconic rap duo OutKast is undoubtedly one of Atlanta's crowning jewels. Their classic album Aquemini featured timeless musical gems like "Rosa Parks" and "SpottieOttieDopaliscious" that made listeners revision the rap music landscape.
Now, Boston-bred emcee and Atlanta transplant Session is merging his East Coast leanings with his Down South learnings to transform the sound of indie underground hip hop.
"GoodTyme" reworks OutKast's "Synthesizer" into a slinky, cinematic-sounding posse cut where Session and fellow rappers A.Ware, Jay and Zulu Faz to use their imaginative rhymes to set musical scenes that depict what it's like to be young black man who's working hard and playing even harder.
"GoodTyme" appears on Session's upcoming mixtape album 20/20 Vision. Executive produced by Kaotiq Simfoni, the project also features appearances from legendary Boston emcee Akrobatik, B.S'mone, MegaBoy Alpha, and Rega and production by Biz20 and MegaBoy Alpha.
20/20 Vision will be available to stream and download October 20, 2011.
