Still riding the wave from the release of their debut retail EP, Believe In The League, TK, Monty, Mr. Knowitall, and DJ Blacksmith, collectively known as League510, have been keeping their fans content with a recent collection of new tracks, a run that started with the recent "Soul Of Synth" and continues with this latest track, "Mos Def." Keeping in League510 tradition, the new song combines a mixture of sharp verses and boisterous beats, the latter coming courtesy of producer T.K. Other Realm. "The inspiration behind this track," explains The League, "was basically to hit people wit a high energy slumper for the fist pumpers and Swag nation. We're doing us to the 3rd power, so get with the program or get some new software. L's up!"

The duo of Prozack Turner and Marc Stretch team-up with Raashan Ahmad for a fast paced spitfest that DJ's and critics alike are agreeing is one of the true gems from the recently released Foreign Legion full length "Night Moves." Produced by FL's own Prozack Turner, the no holds barred banger features line after colorful line of downloadable magic including lines like "Even Sister Souljah says that I'm a handsome devil.." and "that's risky like f****n' on your grandma's sofa." The joint is fire.
You can catch Foreign Legion this Friday night at the infamous CMJ Music Marathon Festival in NYC. The Info: Kenny's Castaway 157 Bleeker St Friday Oct. 21st 11pm! Hope to see you all there!
Dallas, TX - You'd be forgiven for thinking that "iYess", the title of Yung Nation's recent mixtape is a tribute of sorts to Apple or Steve Jobs but in fact it's just one of many vernacular terms invented by the Dallas duo and picked up by their many loyal supporters; 'iyess' - an over-exaggeration of the affirmative, a super YES, if you will. 25,000+ downloads since it's release and 750,000 YouTube views means the Texas up-and-comers are earning their 'stats', or stripes, in Nation-speak. Even nation has been converted from its accepted noun form to mean 'good looking out'; 'that favor you did for me yesterday was Nation.' There are many more examples; 'nupid' - stupid x2, 'skurr' - 'I'm leaving' and 'stat outs' aka promiscuous girls, but I don't want to take all the fun out of discovering it all as you go along.
Dallas as a hip hop market has always been known for being somewhat insular with few nationwide breakouts but before you dismiss this as another example of Dallas being Dallas, take note. Youth across the globe have uploaded thousands of videos to YouTube depicting themselves dancing to Yung Nation's music; garnering over a million views collectively, their single, "Club Rock (Errbody Rockin')" is one of the most popular songs across the Southeast and even college marching bands across the region are incorporating the guys' music into their routines. Not bad for a group that has existed only a little over a year in its present form.
Publicity hype you say? Alas, no. The Yung Nation movement is, in fact, coming soon to a young person's ears near you. Feel free to 'skitz out.'
Introducing "Kosovka," the latest single from Filip Filipi. The song is a collaborative effort with J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League/Asylum Records rapper Laws. Production was handled by 3 time Grammy winner Deezle, known for his work with Lil Wayne (ie Lollipop, Let The Beat Build), and Jonathan Lee, who was also behind Filipi's first single "Big City Chaser"
All proceeds of the song will go towards charities in Kosovo to purchase medical equipment and supplies. There's more info on www.28jun.org
Maxell UR (produced by and featuring Has-Lo) takes a journey from conception to procession. Has-Lo narrates the story of how Hiphop weaves it's way into our being until we become Hiphop. Throughout the track Has' slick word play combines with the history of greats like Pete Rock, Bootcamp Clik, Big L, and Big Pun.
"6 feet deep covered in dirt and dead under my timbs"
The production swirls above the merely sentimental and reaches into the realm of majestic. The track layers a triumphant chorus of church-bred singers, plucky guitars and big drums to create an uplifiting song filled with displays of lyricism.
PR: First Team Music Movies Into Mobile App Market

First Team Music will be officially stepping into the mobile application development arena late 2011. Using the open source Android operating system to power their apps, FTM is focusing its energy on providing an affordable way for independent musicians and artists to be included in the technological boom.
“Earlier this year, we were looking into getting mobile apps done for the artists on our roster; however, after shopping around to a few companies, we realized that the average cost for what we wanted well exceeded our budget but still didn’t meet our expectations,” states Quanstar, co-founder and CEO of First Team Music. “So we minimized all other operations for 6 months to figure out how to design the apps ourselves, and offer them to other artists at a fair and highly affordable price.”
In October 2011, First Team Music has plans to put out 16 applications on the Google and Amazon Android Markets before the official launch of the mobile development division at the end of the year. This will include apps that will support the release of new albums from Quanstar, Evaready RAW, Ghani Gautama, and DLabrie.
