Lady Remedy Drops "The Steez Tape" Hosted by DJ Cos, Graces Cover of SubMerge Magazine
Block Starz Music, www.blockstarzmusic.com, has announced the release of "The Steez Tape", the first official mixtape from 24-year-old Sacremento, CA rapper, songwriter, and producer Tori Redd, better known by her stage name Lady Remedy. "The Steez Tape", which is now available for free download at Bandcamp.com, is mixed by DJ Cos and features 13 tracks by the multi-talented female emcee, who has already been compared to such greats as Missy Elliott and Queen Latifah.

"'Where Ya Been' is a bit of fun at the expense of the people who are constantly asking about what's going on. It feels like sometimes from the day an album is released, or a tour is finished, people are asking "where the fuck are you", "hurry up and play our town" "what's going on with a new album?", and that's awesome, but it's still fun to take the piss out of. MP3: Black Bobby's "Me - An Emotional Affair (Time to Trade Up)"
Pivoting off opening Rock The Bells last year for the Mos Def & Talib Kweli Reunion show and co-hosting SWEATSTOCK, I just got back from a trip to New York City where I had a performance at the Rock Bottom at Brooklyn Wildlife's Coco Mango Bongo Party.
My song contains a beat I sampled from The Rapture's song It Takes Time To Be a Man. The Rapture have always been a favorite group of mine since the Echoes album. I thought the old school sound of this song fit perfectly with the type of song I wanted to write- a song reminiscing on past "emotional affairs."
Released June 22, 2012, The Grindhouse EP is the first look at Swamp Thing, the brainchild of Timbuktu, Chokeules, & Savilion. Inspired by good rap & bad b-movies, backed by Savilion's production, coming soon to a drive-in near you.
With a self-titled album dropping in the fall, the EP is just a glimpse into the world of Swamp Thing. The hard-hitting video for their first single, "123", gives an idea of what's to come. Three well established artists in their own right join forces to do what they do best: making dope hip hop and rocking hype live shows, fine-tuned from years of work and countless performances.
