Mixtape: Moe Green - "Lionheart (Chopped & Screwed)"

From Audible Treats:

Mixtape: Moe Green - "Lionheart (Chopped & Screwed)"

Last year, riding the success of his debut mixtape, Rocky Maivia: Non-Title Match, Moe Green released his follow-up EP, Lionheart. The EP was similarly heralded, and together the projects earned Moe a Show & Prove feature from XXL Magazine, a spot on the inaugural Bay Area Freshman 10 class, and spots performing (in the Bay, LA, and NYC) alongside the likes of Jay Electronica, Kendrick Lamar, Kreayshawn, and more.

More recently, Moe performed at the Paid Dues Festival, and now, with Lionheart 2 coming soon, Moe has teamed up with DJ Butta Love to release a special, chopped & screwed edition of his Lionheart EP. The project, which comes complete with some new, well-themed cover art, includes all 11-tracks from the original EP, each slowed and cut up. "All The Money In The World" is a particular standout here, with the high-energy, up-tempo track pitched to a crawl, while still holding onto all of the anthemic qualities that make it great.

MP3: 4th Pyramid - "Vinnie Chase"

From Audible Treats:

MP3: 4th Pyramid - "Vinnie Chase"

Last month, 4th Pyramid released his latest album, The Pyramid Scheme. The album, Pyramid's first since signing his newly minted Silk Ivory label to a joint venture with Universal Music, continues to receive high praise, and with a third official music video on the way, Pyramid continues to feed fans with new music, both singles from the album and non-album loosies. Today, Pyramid is releasing the latest non-album single, "Vinnie Chase," a collaboration with producer and fellow Torontonian Rich Kidd.

"I wanted to do a song based on some of the real Hollywood moments in my career," explains 4th Pyramid, recalling poolside breakfasts and hosting parties in Miami donning a bathrobe. "Real movie star shit that a lot of people don't really know about me." The song certainly lives up to that hype, as 4th weaves a tale of fame and fortune, rapping, "Poolside host the party in the bathrobe/ Thousand dollar shades on acting like I'm black gold/ Came a long way from six-packs of Pabst, though, off rap flow."

Rich Kidd, who has become one of Pyramid's most frequent collaborators, handled the production for "Vinnie Chase," and the two friends may be making a lot more music together soon. "We've recorded a lot of songs in a real short time span," notes Pyramid. "Any time we hang out, we make a song; we're thinking of doing a whole project together."

Video: 1982 (Statik Selektah & Termanology) "Up Every Night"

2012 was a crazy year... and album, that’s how hip-hop heads worldwide will remember it. Following in the footsteps of great DJ/Producer and MC duos like Eric B. & Rakim and Gang Starr, Statik Selektah & Termanology once again combine to form the powerhouse group 1982. The formula is perfected and flawless as Statik crafts the perfect sonic landscapes for Term’s more mature and sophisticated delivery; see the uplifting first single “Shining.”

Holding Term down on the microphone side of things are great guest spots from some of the hottest new talent in the game; Mac Miller, Roc Marciano and Freddie Gibbs blend nicely with iconoclasts Bun B., Havoc of Mobb Deep and Lil Fame of M.O.P and Shawn Stockman from Boyz 2 Men. 2012 has already garnered high praise as this month’s Source Magazine has given the full length it’s coveted “Independent’s Day” column and XXL has a great review ready for it’s May 22nd issue. The duo will also hit the road in both the states and abroad, April - July for full tour support of the album. 2012 will indeed be the year of 1982.

Statik & Termanology’s 2012 LP will be released on 5-22-2012
