Mayday! - Lords Of The Fly (Mixtape) feat. David Banner, Lil' Wayne, Cee-Lo
While the release of their sophomore album, Stuck On An Island, draws near - the ¡MAYDAY! crew decided to give the people a glimpse of "Island Life" with their new DJ Booth sponsored mixtape "Lords Of The Fly." LOTF features new and unreleased ¡MAYDAY! music and remixes - including 3 exclusive Lil Wayne remixes. Most folks should have seen ¡Mayday! as Wayne's band in his "On Fire", "Da Da Da" and "Get A Life" videos, so Young Money green lit ¡Mayday! to remix those songs. LOTF also features guest shots from Cee Lo, David Banner, Mack Maine, NORE, STS, Ghostwridah, Devin The Dude and more. ¡MAYDAY! has been added to the Florida dates of Tech N9ne's Independent Grind tour (Orlando Oct 26 / Ft Lauderdale Oct 27) - so the crew also cooked up a special Tech N9ne ¡MAYDAY! remix featured on Lords Of The Fly.

We are all in for an exciting treat, as on October 27th, Gary Wilson will be joining Questlove and The Roots on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon! While you might think of him as the king of weird, there is no denying that Gary Wilson hits home with his honest, sincere, and sometimes even creepy musings on life and love, set to his special mix of funk, avant-garde jazz, and AM Gold inflected tunes. It's no wonder Gary's fan-base includes folks like Beck ("... My man Gary Wilson rocks the most." - Beck on Odelay's "Where It's At") , Simpsons creator Matt Groening, Stones Throws' Peanut Butter Wolf, and The Roots' Questlove. The collaboration of Gary and Questlove will certainly be something exceptional, particularly given that Late Night with Jimmy Fallon is known for its bizarre sketches.
Gary will also be in New York for CMJ, playing October 19th at Cake Shop, following O'Death.
To celebrate his performance on Late Night, along with his CMJ show, Gary is giving fans an Mp3 of "In The Night", off of his anticipated LP release, Electric Endicott. Feel free to post and share!
Electric Endicott is due out digitally on October 26th, with a street date of November 9th, 2010, on Western Vinyl.
Free Album: The Niceguys Release Debut Album, The Show
Acclaimed Houston Group Releases Album As Free Download
(September 28, 2010 - Brooklyn, NY) The wait is finally over. After a string of singles, a handful of visuals, and live performances alongside the likes of Talib Kweli, Big Sean, Mickey Factz, and more, the time has come for the official release of The Niceguys' widely anticipated debut album, The Show. Releasing the album for free, the four man Houston-based group comprised of rapper Yves Saint, producers Cristolph and Free, and DJ Candlestick is also making the album available for sale through digital retailers for fans who would like to support the music.
A group with southern roots and worldly musical sensibilities, The Niceguys first burst onto the national scene with the late 2009 release of The Green Room EP, spawning the popular single and video "Not At All," and leading a seamless transition into the group's debut full-length.
The album is a testament to the group's development. The album that was originally aimed at being a jovial, lighthearted party album saw a metamorphosis during the production that resulted in a multilayered offering, ranging from the celebratory braggadocio of tracks like "Toast," to the powerful, rock-inflected "Mr. Perfect," and the word play flipping "Good Shepherd." On the production side, the album also shows a progression in the group's sound, as Cristolph and Free deftly mix samples and live instrumentation to give the entire project a cohesive feel.
With The Show dropping today, fans can also look forward to The Niceguys making their New York debut during CMJ 2010 and can look forward to Yves Saint's musings on the forthcoming New York Knicks' basketball season as he prepares to kick off his own blog with leading basketball publication SLAM Magazine's SLAMonline.com.
