Potluck Lands On The Billboard Heatseekers, Rap & Independent Album Charts With "Rhymes & Resin"
Humboldt hip-hop duo Potluck scored a victory with the release of their new album "Rhymes & Resin", as the album landed at No. 17 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart in its first week of release. Potluck's breezy brand of West Coast hip-hop also lit up Billboard's Rap chart where it came in at No. 28, and the Independent albums chart landing at No. 75. "It's a good thing when a couple kids from Humboldt County can get recognition on the Billboard charts. We got a real movement with good music and an exciting show that speaks directly to the people," commented 1 Ton from Potluck. "The people say we got the number 28 CD on the Billboard Rap charts!!! We got much underground love, real people, real fans for life and we wouldn't have it any other way."
Potluck's grinding blue collar work ethic, unwavering perseverance, and grassroots campaign to build a fan base is one of the most impressive stories in hip-hop. UnderRated handles most of the production and has produced tracks for many top 200 billboard albums. They are both multi-talented artists, they are DJ's, rappers, and avid hip-hop junkies. The group has spent the last four years on the road consistently performing for hip-hop diehards all across the globe on tours with Tech N9ne, La Coka Nostra and a recent 40-date tour Co-Headlining with platinum rappers D12.
Stereo Boyz member Mixo releases the first song "Food for thought" off his "Truth be told" 3-Chapter mixtape series, which is his first solo project since the group has formed and will entirely be released through-out July 2011. Flowing over a beat borrowed by the magnificent Oddisee, the song holds, as the title says, food for thought! www.StereoBoyz.com .
