Dallas Duo Preps For When Pigs Fly With Lead Single, Forthcoming Video

The Song:

Dallas, Texas duo A.Dd+ (pronounced A.D.D., with the plus sign silent) is finally gearing up to release their long-awaited new project, When Pigs Fly, an album that will be released for free on March 28. The group, comprised of rappers Paris Pershun and Slim Gravy, worked diligently for the past year with producer Picnic Tyme, a member of Erykah Badu's Cannabinoids who has also produced for Devin the Dude and Johnny Polygon. When Pigs Fly flows through a mix of slang anthems, flirtatious tales, and more serious issues (financial struggle, incarceration) with a creative edge, both musically and lyrically, that has made the duo one of the most progressive groups to come from the scene in some time. "When Pigs Fly represents the impossible," explains Slim. "We're doing what people are scared to do in this Dallas music scene. We're making the impossible possible."

For "Likeamug," the lead single from When Pigs Fly, A.Dd+ brought along friend and fellow Dallas native Brown, of Sore Losers. "The song originated from a phrase we used when we were younger," says Paris. "Of course, it's a euphemism for 'like a muthaf*cka.' Brown of Sore Losers brought the phrase back on Twitter, and right at that same time we received a beat from Picnic titled 'Mugg,' so we ran with it." With a half-sung chorus courtesy of Paris and a beat comprised of thick synth bass lines and pounding drums, "Likeamug" immediately pulls fans into the group's unique, infectious sound, with Paris exclaiming that, "You ain't never seen nothing like this," before reassuring listeners: "Everything is A-OK when you're rocking with us."

In the coming weeks, fans can also look forward to a video for "Likeamug."

In Between EP Singles, Kyle Rapps Shows Of Humorous Side With Non-EP Track

The Song:

As he continues to prep for his forthcoming EP, Re-Edutainment, a project revisiting the classic BDP album, Edutainment, Kyle Rapps holds us over with the fresh, non-EP track "Lazy Dayze" featuring long-time friend and rapper Silent Knight. This particular song, as the title would indictate, is of a more mellow strain and feeds off winter-ridden spirit's desire for the warm days of spring that are, we can all hope, just around the corner. "Lazy Dayze" is dominated by playful keys and synth lines that bounce back and forth while a steady beat, provided by producer Ray Contour, holds down the tempo. Over the beat Kyle Rapps can be heard flexing his comical abilities, opening with lines, "Turn letters like Vanna, never been to Montana / I'm already gifted son, the jokes on Santa." Inspiration on this track was simple for Rapps: "Some days are just lazy," says the New Jersey native, now residing in Harlem. "I wanted to bring the laid back, humorous vibes on this one. It takes me back to when I used to spark El's and write punchlines."

Kyle Rapps' debut EP, Re-Edutainment, produced entirely by Kev Brown and featuring Joell Ortiz, KRS-One, and U-N-I will drop on March 29th.

Tricksta has been producing and releasing music since 1996 and is integral part of the Midlands and UK Hip-Hop scene. His passion for home-grown Hip-Hop started back in the original wave of UK Rap when he used to play the sounds of MC Duke, Demon Boyz, Blade, London Posse and many more on his pirate radio show on Fantasy FM back in the early nineties. Fast forward to 2011 and Tricksta is now a producer, a deejay, a journalist, label manager, mixtape DJ, magazine editor and much more, but above all he is a ridiculously passionate Hip-Hop enthusiast that constantly tries to push his beloved genre to the maximum.  Tricksta has been producing artists and releasing Hip-Hop on Wolftown Recordings since its birth in May 1999 but never before has he released a producer/artist album.

Now in 2011 Tricksta unleashes his first single from his forthcoming album 'Out Of Darkness Cometh Light'. The single entitled 'Out Of Darkness' features Supar Novar, Cyclonious, LATE, Streetz and Deeze who all deliver a 12 bar verse for this no-nonsense brass lead Tricksta produced UK anthem. From London to Wolverhampton to Bristol, all manors are repped here in a track that really gives us a vibe of what the full-length album will be like. 'Out Of Darkness Cometh Light' the full-length album features over forty British MC's from all over the country and has taken three years to make. This album is going to be a must for any discerning UK Rap fan as it promises features from the cream of the current scene as well as contributions from new cutting edge artists alongside some home-grown legendary names. Out of the darkness comes Tricksta, a producer set to do big things this year.

'Out Of Darkness' drops on Wolftown Recordings MP3 in April 2011 complete with a Drumstep Remix by Juttla
