Enter the scene of Marcos Rawles, aka Self Destruktion! This kat straight out of Los Angeles is bringing back that swagger of west coast hip hop in his music, while still keeping true to his own art.  Self Destruktion has been rapping for years, making his presence highly felt in L.A. as well as other cities across the nation. He spits lyrical content for the mind, and adds that west coast flava that has been desired since it "went to the underground."

Though the single "Smoke Out" has been the elevated track of his music, I heard other tracks that brought about a stronger appeal to me, but to each our own preference right? The track on his Myspace page, American Dream brings a strong presence and anthem type feel, definitely worth a peep.

This hip hop artist is grindin' hard and busting through doors to get his music distributed even further! Check him out at his Myspace page at www.myspace.com/selfdestruk2010 . Much respect!

Last year, two days after Christmas, Atlanta producer Mike WiLL Made It released his debut mixtape, Est. In 1989 (Last Of A Dying Breed). In addition to giving fans a run down of Mike's work - known and, in some cases, unknown - the tape also featured a number of exclusives, including Future's instant club- and street-classic "Itchin'," "Animosity" featuring Gucci Mane & Yo Gotti, and more.

This spring, Mike plans to unveil the follow up to that mixtape with Est. In 1989 Pt. 2. Like the original, Pt. 2 will feature a collection of Mike's previous work, in addition to a handful of exclusive singles, the first of which he's excited to release today, on his 23rd birthday.

The track, "Back 2 The Basics," features Brick Squad generals Gucci Mane & Waka Flocka Flame. Both rappers sound at their most inspired, and so it's not a surprise to learn that the song was recorded earlier this year, when Waka crashed the studio during Gucci's Trap Back sessions. "Waka walked in the studio and heard us working on the song," recalls Mike. "All three of us were in the studio working together - it felt like the old days, back in '06 or '07. It's bigger than music; we're really like fam."

T.K. Other Realm, one-fourth of League510, recently released a song on his birthday, titled "Let It Go." The song was the first single off T.K.'s upcoming solo project, The Known Other Realm. Today, the Oakland native is excited to release the second single from that project, "Heaven Flow."

"Heaven Flow" is built over a beat from Flying Lotus' 2010 EP Cosmogramma, and T.K. took advantage of the laid back production to experiment with his style. "I got tired of overanalyzing my music," he explains, "so I created a rapping style to free myself from the confines of perfection and called it 'The Heaven Flow'." The style, according to T.K., is more poetically inspired than his usual rapping. "I wrote whatever I felt, thought, tasted, saw, and experienced," recalls T.K., noting that the message of the song wound up being equally inspired by the style of the writing. "Everyone can be great," he remarks. "You are the only person that holds yourself back."

The driving drums and amazing sample held a beautiful sadness that pulled out of me lamentations of a man stuck in a cycle of love and tormented by a barrage of psychological and emotional abuse. In his dealing with these feelings he finds himself unable to let go asking her to either let him go or make him believe in their love again. Pulling from personal and other stories imparted to me by friends and associates of both genders "I'm only a Drop" was born.

This song originally appeared on Can't Wait, and in this version, we didn't include Posner's part -- because of the treatment. Hope you enjoy it and get a good laugh. It's fucking awesome. The video to "Rich Kid" is coming soon.

Fresh off appearances at SXSW with label mates Apollo Brown & Oddisee, Gensu Dean has unleashed his first video to support his debut album "Lo-Fi Fingahz".   To bring this one to life, Dean brought in director Calvan Fowler of DayDream FilmWorks whom you may recognize from his work with Pete Rock/Smif n Wessun on Roses feat. Freeway.  The video was shot in Brooklyn & Manhattan this past month and takes listeners back to when storytelling and direction went hand in hand.
