New Video: Cameron GreY - "No Tomorrow"

From Matt B:

New Video: Cameron GreY - "No Tomorrow"

Cameron GreY speaks directly to “GenerationY” with his new video for “No Tomorrow” and its passionately lip-synched by a close friend of Cameron’s Mr. Billy Mays III (fun factoid—Billy Mays III is the son of Billy Mays Jr, the former “king of the pitch” spokesperson from the Home Shopping Network).

From Soul Khan:

MP3: Soul Khan - "Soulstice 3"

Soulstice 4, like the prior three, is like the ultimate musical status update, in which I tell fans in as potent and honest terms as I know how I feel about my life and the world that it occupies. As always, it is over a borrowed non-hip hop musical source that reflects the tone of the song as well as my contemporary cultural influences. This all sounds way too pretentious, so fuck it, I'll put it like this: Soulstice means the "realest shit I ever wrote" and this is the last part of the series, so enjoy. Thanks for rolling with me and I hope you continue to do so.

Video: 40Love Announces Dreams Don't Sleep For July 24

From Audible Treats:

Video: 40Love Announces Dreams Don't Sleep For July 24 Release

San Francisco hip-hop group 40Love, comprised of emcee/vocalist Miss Haze, rapper G-OFF, and DJ/Producers Mikos and The Whooligan, is excited to announce their new album, Dreams Don't Sleep. The album, which blends and bends hip-hop, electro, and soul, will be released July 24th. Today, to celebrate the album announcement, 40Love is excited to release the lead single and accompanying video from Dreams Don't Sleep, "Bout2Bloom."

The name 40Love represents the group's formation 40 years after the historic Summer Of Love in San Francisco, and the same ideology that inspired that movement manifests throughout Dreams Don't Sleep, an album the group refer to as "raw and ethereal." The album took over two years to create and the hard work and long hours paid off. Today, 40Love refers to Dreams Don't Sleep as their finest, most expertly crafted album yet. "With this album," says G-OFF, comparing it to the group's previous LP's, Advantage and BANGERANG!, "we felt that a slow process would be the best method. Dreams Don't Sleep is our Sistine Chapel."

Over the years, 40Love, with its four group members, has very much been a self-contained, self-reliant unit, and as such, the music on Dreams Don't Sleep largely and unsurprisingly eschews outside influences. But when the group does feature guests, they make them count, with appearances from Zumbi of Zion I (on "Tiki Tiki"), Black Spade (on "Anywhere"), live band The Park (on "Take Another Look"), and more. "'Anywhere' and 'Tiki Tiki' are extra special," says The Whooligan. "We've re-worked those tracks a billion times, and when we played back the final versions, it was like, 'Ah, yes - that's it.'"

The first offering from Dreams Don't Sleep is "Bout2Bloom," a lush, bouncy track with a Miami Vice/Beastie Boysinspired visual. "We shot the video in Miami during the 2012 Winter Music Conference," says The Whooligan. "We rented out Iggy Pop's mansion and partied really hard. With the culture, the people, and the ocean, it was an amazing shoot." The Nina Reyes Rosenberg-directed video shows the group in a variety of slow motion chase scenes, while Miss Haze and G-OFF rhyme over a Bassnectar-sampled, Mikos-flipped beat. "Potential is truly infinite," says Miss Haze, breaking down the meaning behind the song. "Every moment can be your chance to bloom."
