AKIR Presents #SupporterSundays: Just Think

First lemme say how immensely humbled I am by the West Coast love I have received so far. Paid Dues was amazing! Now I'm extremely excited to see what the rest of my tour has to offer...

While I didn't have a lot of time dedicated to new material on stage out here, as you already know, I have been working feverishly to mix my new projects (Focus [EP] & The Plan [LP]).

So... I decided to bless all of you with a couple of unreleased tracks that I recorded right after Legacy. It's amazing how relevant they still are...

Here is:  "Just Think"

Rime Force Most Illin’ is a cool name right?  I agree.  If you aren’t familiar, RFMI is composed of Luke Sick & Rob RushLuke Sick is one half for the Hip Hop Duo Grand Invincible with DJ Eons, Gurp City luminary, front man to the legendary Sacred Hoop.  Rob Rush is part of San Francisco’s Rec-League crew and has been putting in plenty of work on the stage and behind the mic with his team for the past 10 years in the bay area and touring up and down the west coast.  This new project is featuring production from the Rec-League and Gurp City camps with tuff rhymes from Luke Sick & Rob Rush.

On Dope is produced by Vrse Murphy (Sacred Hoop) and features cuts from San Francisco’s own DJ Quest.  the track is from the album The Force Is Slammin’” due out later this year.

MP3: Donwill - "Love Junkie (Wallpaper Remix)" Feat The Park

Second Remix From 11 Inch Records' Love Junkie EP Matches Donwill With Wallpaper, The Park

The Song:

The song that started it all. In March 2010, Donwill released his debut solo album, Don Cusack In High Fidelity, a concept project themed around the cult classic film High Fidelity. Following the release, Donwill created this remix, which ended up in the hands of DJ Eleven, who early last month released an entire Love Junkie EP, featuring a variety of remixes and renditions on the original single. "When I heard the remix Donwill did with Wallpaper, I was sold," explains Eleven. And now, following last month's So Shifty Remix of the "Love Junkie" single, Donwill, DJ Eleven, and 11 Inch Records are excited to release this remix for fans.

This track, which debuted this week at number 33 on the CMJ Hip-Hop chart, features The Park and Wallpaper. While the So Shifty remix resonated with the heavy bass and beating drums of dubstep, this new remix once again comes complete with an entirely new feel; a pulsing, four-to-the-floor drum line and an infectious guitar vamp, courtesy of Wallpaper's production work and the live sounds of The Park, offers the listener a more soulful take. Wallpaper, serving double duty as producer and singer for the track, laces the song with a catchy hook: "I'm addicted to your touch / When you're near me I lose control / And we ain't never met / Baby I need you tonight / I'm addicted to the feeling / But somehow end up empty inside / And I can't find the love..." While these two 11 Inch Records remixes of "Love Junkie" have offered fans with contrasting makeovers and refurbished vibe, the one constant remains Donwill, as he raps, "A well done fling is a beautiful thing."

Drumma Boy is back with another smash for the DJ's, Blogs, Websites and Supporters. He specifically dedicates this song to everybody who has helped him on his long path to success. This record is called "Round Me" and features Young Buck, 8Ball & MJG and of course was produced by Drumma himself. Both Drumma Boy & Future Star want to thank you for the continued support you all have showed us throughout the years. Without all of you being apart of this circle none of this would be possible. DJ's you are the backbone of this business regardless of what these labels tell you or think! The listeners and consumers wouldn't hear the records if it wasn't for the Websites, Blogs and Media. THANK YOU!
