Review by Steve 'Flash' Juon Artist: DJ Drama f/ Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, Willie the Kid Title: My People Will Be Heard Label: Atlantic Records "There's a war goin' on outside and my people gotta paint they faces on." The "Gangsta Grillz" series by DJ Drama has been around for a minute, but as far as major labels are considered there's only volume one and volume two, the latter being due out May 19th. "My People Will Be Heard" was leaked to the internet to create a buzz for the CD, and while it may be a little late with only one weak to go, that doesn't stop the track from being hot. The beat is some anime/martial arts hypeness - slow paced, plucked instruments, foreboding and ominous like the showcase stealing rap Luda spits. Honestly after his opening verse, Willie the Kid and Busta Rhymes are an afterthought, though the original Dungeon Dragon of hip-hop does a respectable job closing the song. One minor criticism - considering both Busta and Luda complain specifically about high gas prices, the bars seemed to have been laid down as far back as last summer.
