Review by Steve 'Flash' Juon

Artist: Punchlyne & Fokis f/ Steele
Title: Enemies of the State
Label: Ekek Promotions

A little digging online revealed that this Jaisu produced track is featured on three different versions of "The Appetizer," released on three different hip-hop blogs. No love for RapReviews.com huh? We're not hating because of that - in fact this is my favorite of all four singles covered in this week's update. Jaisu's beat works for multiple reasons - it snaps and crackles like dusty old records, it has a good piano style backdrop punctuated by symphonic breaks, and the triumvirate of rappers on it are busting straight up New York underground hardcore rhymes. "General Steele, modern day Bobby Seale/Huey Newton we shootin impeccable rhyme skills/All black like Navy Seals, strapped ready to ill." Now I know you can dig that, so go get this track then find one of the three versions of "The Appetizer" that came out for free - I'm gonna recommend 2DopeBoyz because they're down with Okayplayer.
