Adam's World Weekly 11/12 - I Moderated Another Panel!

Welcome to the new week everyone. I had a fantastic and eventful weekend and I hope you did, too. On Saturday I moderated a panel I put together for the RE/Mixed Media Festival titled Remixing The Fan Experience. I had a large group of writers, artists, publicists, and industry experts discussing what happened to fandom and how we can bring it back. I recorded the entire thing, and should have the audio up on Adam's World in the coming week. What I have for you right now includes a fantastic interview with one of my favorite artists, Toussaint Morrison, a brand new edition of Pop Shots, some great pictures for Jenna Andrews' recent show in NYC, which I braved a nor'easter to attend, and a Vid Pick from longtime B-Lister Big Stat. Last, but not least, one of the students from the Fairfield U class I spoke at last month wrote up my time there, and my time on her radio show, and I have links to both of those features, as well.

If you dig any of these features please feel free to forward this email to a friend. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, and enjoy!

Pop Shots - Decisions, Decisions

Welcome to your weekly dose of pop world musings. Covering all things pop culture, this week Pop Shots is hitting you with thoughts on everything from Taylor Swift deciding where to debut her new single, to No Doubt's decision to pull their latest video, to Rihanna deciding to work with a familiar face, and since it's Pop Shots you know everything is seasoned with a little bit of attitude.

Toussaint Morrison - Head Turning Hip-Hop

When Toussaint Morrison jumped on the mic at Sully's Pub in Hartford, CT, on Thursday, October 25th, there was a small group of people by the stage, with others at the bar watching both Thursday night football and the World Series, and still more outside having a smoke. By the time Morrison was halfway through his set, everyone who had been outside was by the stage and everyone at the bar had turned around and was paying full attention to Morrison's performance. This is the effect Toussaint Morrison's music has on people. His unique brand of personal, and fringe culture reference laced, hip-hop, mixed with Motown-era soul, draws listeners in and turns them into fans.

I caught up with Morrison on the night of the show to find out more about his music, including his latest mixtape, Toussaint Morrison is Not My Boyfriend, as well as his successful Kickstarter campaign. Morrison also revealed how blogging about a cancer patient he met changed the way he writes.

EmKaysCorner Discusses My Recent Appearances at Fairfield U

One thing I love to do is speak with aspiring journalists about all things journalism, and, if the opportunity arises, all things music journalism. Last month I was invited to speak at a journalism class at Fairfield U, and one of the students, MaryKate Callahan, posted an article about it online.

On Monday, Callahan had me as a guest on her radio show on WVOF 88.5FM Fairfield, CT, and I had a blast. I also had a lot of flashbacks to my days WVOF, which included MANY good times. Callahan wrote up the experience in another blog post.

As always, thanks for reading and have a fantastic week.
