Seems like Common has moved far beyond the grassroots hippie days of his early career where he bemoaned his only fans being "coffeeshop chicks and white dudes." According to a recent www.BallerStatus.com update, Ford Motor Co. has signed rapper Common to a one-year deal to helpmarket their Lincoln Navigator to consumers in their late 20's to mid-30's. In their own words they hope Common will make the Navigator "hipper and a little cooler." Hopefully Common is not cashing in his hip-hop credibility in the process by becoming a luxury car pitchman. Honestly if I think of a rapper flossing a Lincoln Navigator it's 50 Cent, Kanye West or The Game. I haven't heard Common rap about his chromed out luxury whip lately.
