Lupe Barnstorms the UK Charts - Have No Fear!

Lupe Fiasco's album "The Cool" entered the UK album charts at No.7 - a feat virtually unheard of in hip hop. Riding high on the success of his genuine hit single "Superstar" featuring Matthew Santos, which is currently a mainstay of the Top Ten singles chart, as well as generally excellent reviews of "The Cool" circling the media, Lupe Fiasco has joined a select group of hip hop artists to post first-week album sales that make it into the Top Ten. To put that into context, only Kanye West, Eminem, 50 Cent and a couple of UK artists (like The Streets) have EVER managed this. His album was released in the UK a whole 4 weeks after hitting the stores in America, so he even convinced the file-sharing community to exchange money (worth twice as much as the dollar, it is worth noting) for his sophomore LP. This is truly historic news and his success should not be understated.

His next official big single will be "Paris/Tokyo." The video will feature a continuous loop of flight footage from the regular Air France 747 to Narita airport (maybe).
