Review by Steve 'Flash' Juon

Artist: JaFeezie f/ Evil Loc
Title: What it Dew
Label: JMK Music Group

"What it Dew" opens with an ominous Mortal Kombat sample, but once the heavy bassline kicks in the only destiny left to choose is rewind or fast forward. As an artist his life story is more compelling than the song. He grew up until the age of 8 in New York then moved with his dad to Dallas when his parents divorced. You can't hear any trace of NY in JaFeezie's flow though - he seems typically Texan throughout. The beats and flow could be mistaken for any Paul Wall track, which at least from me is a compliment since I like P Dub, but it does show that Feezie hasn't done much to distinguish himself from a crowded field. In fact for my money the deeper voiced Evil Loc steals the show here. "I treat these hoes like NASCAR, they stay on the track." I hope Loc doesn't catch another NASCAR trademark from his hoes though - a fiery burning mess South of the beltline.
