Review by Steve 'Flash' Juon

Artist: One Chance f/ Yung Joc
Title: You Can't
Label: J Records

Unlike previous weeks where I reviewed singless by Dallas and Qwote without knowing they'd be R&B first, this time I knew well in advance One Chance was a R&B group that's been hunting for THEIR chance to step into the spotlight. Thanks to Drumma Boy and a cameo verse from Yung Joc, they've finally got it. "You wanna holla at me, I'm posted by the bar/I don't buy drinks, baby I buy the bar." It's a pretty typical Yung Joc performance, but it sounds appropriate over DB's heavy beat, one that's slowed down a little bit so the crooners will fit. One Chance's performance falls into the same category as The-Dream's "Falsetto" - it often seems like they are singing a rap on the track, and I'm really not mad at it. With a little luck and a few spins in the right places they may finally get their chance thanks to this song.
