From RBC Records:

RBC RECORDS & AFFILIATED LABELS SCORE TEN SLOTS IN THIS WEEKS BILLBOARD TOP 100 RAP ALBUMS CHART

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

After 10 years in business and just over 400 releases under its belt, RBC Records has exerted its independent grip by having 10 albums appear in Billboard’s Top 100 Rap Chart in each of the past two weeks coming from labels RBC either owns or represents.

Scoring the highest chart position is the new album from West Coast legend Ice Cube’s titled “I Am The West” on Cube’s Lench Mob Records, clocking in at number 10 after debuting at number 6 last week. RBC continues to focus its online marketing efforts to extend this success and grow awareness.

Accounting for half of these Top 100 Rap chart positions is  the independent Label juggernaut Strange Music with  Tech N9ne’s  Collabos album “The Gates Mixed Plate”. Alongside the most recent Krizz Kaliko album “Shock Treatment”, the Kansas City based label has shown its staying power with last years Tech N9ne solo album “KOD” & Collabos album “Sickology 101” continuing to chart on the Top 100. Not to mention Brotha Lynch Hung’s resurgence with his “Dinner & A Movie” album, which was released this March.

Additionally, after more than 6 months on the chart, E-40’s two albums "Revenue Retrievin: Day Shift & Night Shift" (via Heavy on Da Grind Ent.) continue to chart off the strength of the bubbling radio single “Bitch” featuring Too Short and his on-going “Independent Grind” tour with Tech N9ne.

Under it’s own record label banner, RBC Records charted with B.G.’s “Hollyhood”, the follow up to last years “Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood” and the reunion album from West Coast legends the Thug Lordz.

“This continued chart success is a true testament to the power of our independence,” says co-owner Brian Shafton, “showing how integral RBC has become within the independent format.  Obviously, all of these releases are indie and we are legitimately competing with the majors and beating them when it comes to succeeding on a release.”

Serving as a general management/Marketing & Consulting  firm, RBC Records represents over a dozen independent urban labels (Strange Music, Sick Wid It, Heavy On Da Grind, 8 Ways Ent., SMC, DJ Quik’s Mad Science, EP Records, etc.) across the country advising them on the independent game. In addition to representing its own roster of artists (B.G., Thug Lordz, B-Real, C-Murder and more) for its own label, RBC is a full service marketing firm that is contracted for high profile independent releases (Ice Cube, Tech N9ne and countless others).
